When a payment is pending, it could be just that the person who is to receive the money hasnt been to his/her account yet and accepted your payment. (They could be away or something like that). Whatever you do, do not click to pay again or your money will be sent to the seller. Or if you press cancel, it will cease the trading.

Speaking from personal experience lol... Silverfox

Payments are automatically accepted, sellers don't have to do anything. I'm still thinking this has converted to an e cheque so all you can wait is for the seller to get back to you.

I have one at the moment which looks like a paypal problem. Buyer paid immediately and emailed to say she would like her item as quickly as possible. However I got an e cheque rather than a straight paypal payment so I have emailed her twice now explaining that there will be a delay, but she has not got back to me. I'm a little worried that she just doesn't check her emails and is now just waiting for the item to arrive..

There are two types of Paypal account,if you have the lowest type you can pay people ok,but when they pay you...you have to upgrade your account to Premier or something........................

I've actually just checked the seller, he's got 1871 items for sale currently, so I think he'll have Paypal set up by now the way he wanted it.

    HI

It could also be a typing error on his email address payment.Have you emailed him ? if not this would be the best thing to do. Just explain you are not sure why the payment is pending and spell out the exact address the payment was made to.If it has been processed as an echeque the buyer would have had notification of this. Between you both you should probably be able to figure out what the hold up is. I once accidentally misspelt my payapl address and the payment could not be collected, duh ! ohthe probs it caused......
Like Sooo I have just had someone pay with echeque but they have not responded to my email about the delay in delivery, little worrier me is concerned they dont know.

Thanks to all who replied, I've already emailed the seller so I suppose I'll need to wait for some enlightenment from his end.

Have you heard from your buyer yet Cat72? I haven't and I'm just waiting for the irate e mail asking me where their item is. The e cheque is still showing unpaid and I htink this is working day three or four, I must go and check.

    Hi
No I still have not heard from the buyer and the echeque just cleared this morning. 8 days and she never replied  .It took ages to clear. However I am posting the item today and including a copy of the reciept which shows the payment only cleared in my payapl account today. Just to keep me right, I have also sent another email saying its on its way. Hope it does not happen again , it would have been quicker by normal cheque etc.
There is nothing much you can do, they will have recieved your emails ( whenever they bother to look or they have probably got them and are not curteous enough to reply ). So if you just enclose a note with the item when you post it you have done far more than expected.
Just wish people would reply to their emails !

The seller hasn't replied to my emails, and I've phoned his mobile a couple of times but can't get him. I don't think this is an e-cheque issue, Paypal says a cash transfer has been made but is 'unclaimed.' I doubt it is the wrong email address either, the seller is operating on a massive scale. I still have the 'cancel' option with Paypal, and this is distinctly possible.
