I tried it from 2 different PCs and its really slow on both...yet other websites seem fine.

I’m on Broadband and the site’s been fast and a joy to use but this evening it’s slowed to a virtual dead stop.

There are now (gulp) three servers to cope with the chat forum. Hence why it didnt crash with 2800 people online this morning!
Server3 is the database
server 6 and 5 handle the traffic and work with the database
server 6 crashed about 40 mins ago! So all is now going through server 5 (in the old days the site would've simply been down) yet the traffic is very heavy so its slow. The server company are blue a'sed flying to get it back to normal

I came here to post the same thing as it's been painfully slow the last couple of hours, but I put it down to Martin's email tips going out today and attracting the not-so-regular MSE'ers logging on when they got home from work
Glad to see that Martin has made interim measures to cope with the extra load and thankful to retain access even if it is slower :T
BTW, it seems to have eased up somewhat the last 10 minutes
