Where can I get a Centurion Credit Card? I think people also know it as the "black card".

Also what are the main benefits from this type of card?

seems to be an elite cc by invite only,so from what i read you cant just"get one"

If you can afford one they find you.

Quick search on Wiki shows the exact amounts are not known but
the fee to own one is £1800 a year per card. Some with a joining fee of approx £5000.

You need to be worth £10 million +

Do you have a platinum card? Spend lots and pay it off quickly see if they offer you one.

If it's the American Express Centurion Card, I would imagine you'd need to have their Platinum Card, and keep that account in good order for at least 6 to 12 months, and spend a significant amount before they would consider inviting you to the Centurion Card.

There is no information available on the Centurion Card on the American Express website.

Maybe look at the FlyerTalk forum for more info, some members are Centurion Card holders and they often usually discuss the card's benefits relating to flying and travel.

No offence but from your other posts you say you're looking for an economical car like a VW polo and pretty sure the clientele that owns a centurion card don't drive cars for the economy let alone a VW polo.

Seems to be a real blend of info on here between the US and UK card

The UK card is £1,800 per year with no initial set up fee (the US card has a setup fee of $5,000) and the UK Dollar card is $2,800 a year

The cards are by invitation only and there are no set requirements for getting them as there are some ultra high spenders that dont get invited and there are some very high spenders that do get invited. Where you are spending is almost as important with travel and high end luxury evidently being considered favourably

Most would argue the UK card requires you to be spending about £120,000 a year on your Amex card where as the UK Dollar card requires you to be spending circa £40,000 in the US in dollar transactions.

As to benefits.... they are similar to Platinum but just higher so for example you get free top level membership with One World flying club meaning free access to business and first class airport lounges for BA, Iberia, American Airlines etc and a fairly good chance of free upgrades on your tickets.

In addition certain restaurants have a permanently reserved table for Amex centurion customers. High end brands will go out their way to assist etc.

I've only known one guy that had one (and it was a company card) but for example when he got to NYC his suit bag had been lost and he had a 8am meeting the next day which he needed to be dressed appropriately. A call to Concierge and it was arranged for Saks (or one of the big stores) to be at his hotel room at 10pm with a range of suits, shirts, ties etc for him to try on and buy from so that he had something for the morning.

Ok, thanks to everyone for all of the help. I'v been trying to dig deeper into it online and on the phone. I have found that most of you are spot on, although the prices change all the time for the yearly rate on the card. "InsideInsurance" is correct the current price in the UK is £1,800 per year. Sorry is didn't get back to everyones questions, this card is for business and is to replace a similar card that was being used. One of the main interests was for buying a large stock of economic cars for the business.

I think I've seen one used, in a London restaurant. Boss buying lunch for his team at the next table. The card was left on the bill tray almost in front of me, and it was definitely a black Amex card with the centurion on it, and silver/grey detailing.

But probably I'm just making this up. We're all on the internet here, right?

It looks like the gold and platinum with the black one as you say. The card is made of titanium instead of plastic. (It is an absolute nightmare to swipe through on a magstripe transaction)
