the buyer has now decided it will cost too much to come and collect the item.i opened a case so we could mutually solve it,he rejected this as he did say he would be able to come for it now i cannot open a case.how do i get my fees back.

Unfortunately you don't, you only get one chance of a refund and you always gamble if you do a mutual.

You could try phoning eBay and ask them to review the messages (they are often strangely reluctant) and see if they will put the mutual back through and refund the FVvs as a good will gesture as buyer has mucked you around.

Good, I always think it is worth spending a little time appealing something.

this is a copy of e-mail they sent me about not wanting the item, now changed their mind, what can i do now

HI Scott,ok I give in I admit defeat on this one!
it's going to cost me about £200 just to stay somewhere semi decent for the weekend so if you still want too cancel the sale please do so.

    Hi

I would just send them a short, polite e-mail stating that as the transaction has been cancelled, the item has been offered elsewhere and is no longer available, but thank them for their interest.

    Good luck, HTH :)

Ebay have given you your fees back so as far as i am aware that means they (ebay) have agreed the sale is cancelled. Just poitley tell the buyer that as ebay have agreed to cancel that sale it is no longer available. Then ignore them.
    I hate time wasters!
    Sell to the other person.
If your original buyer then decides to leave neg feedback contact ebay about it again-I would imagine they would agree to remove it as they never paid. It may take a few emails though as i had to do this quite recently for someone who never paid but still managed to leave me a neg! Took 3 emails.
