The insurance seemed to be her responsibility and it is the one thing she paid for by direct debit monthly. It was renewed as recently as August 2012 in her name.
 .
It's a simple principle of insurance, you can't insure someone elses property in your name. She must have been the registered owner of that property at the time, otherwise the insurance policy was void and those premiums are refundable.0

Not really a very helpful comment is it? Or sensitive.
Just keep working with the solicitors to see where you stand. Maybe contact the FSA or Financial Ombudsman for advice and see if they have any useful information for you. http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/consumerinformation/consumer_contact/index.shtmlFirst Time Buyer: Mortgage Offered, Searches complete, Exchanged 21/12/2012, Completion 04/01/2013! :beer:0

I think you have to leave it to the solicitors and executors( unless you are a beneficiary or claimant).
If you feel that they do not in time deal with it correctly you can still report it as fraud if you believe you have a basis to do so.Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
