Veg oil from commercial premises

Hi,
Our local pub has said that we can have their used vegetable oil for 30p per litre. I have an old landrover and it runs quite happily on veg oil (50-50 mix in the winter when its colder). My question is this I have a friend who has a waste transfer license to pick up the veg oil - the pub need a 'receipt' to say the veg oil has been taken away by a licensed carrier - BUT ....does anyone check to see what he has done with the waste oil ?
A previous company was running their trucks on the @ 20% mix but due to the economic climate they have gone bust.
So to summarise does anyone check to see what has been done to the collected used Veg oil ?
Many thanks

They might is the answer I think!
Generally your friend should issue a waste transfer note and keep copies - just in case. Probably loads more info on the vegetableoildiesel forum.
Not a bad find at 30p/l if it's half decent!0 -
How long have you been running it for and did you make any modifications to the engine to get it going - and what's the highest ratio of v oil you have used in it?
I was going to do this but read it destroys the engine as the oil doesn't heat up to the right temperature to achieve full fluidity.0 -
VOSA might take a keen intrest in your landy as well as HMRC
If you use more than 2500 litres per year then you have to pay duty on the fuel, I see a lot of roadside checkpoint where I live and one thing they always pull over is vans - trucks and 4x4's. They always dip the tanks of these vehicles to see what fuel they are using be it reg diesel, red diesel or veg / bio diesel. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
