Advice re new PDA type phone with data tariff?

I've been out of the new phone market for some time and have no idea what is available at the moment.

I'm looking for a new PDA type phone with a data tariff (still using old XDA II that previously had free O2 gprs). Having done some research on the board it seems that a tmobile contract may be best for me but I have no idea what sort of phone would be best (if indeed there are any PDA type phones on tmobile) so looking for advice from experts on here if possible.

I currently have two cashback contracts but the new contract doesn't have to be a cashback one, I just want lots of (relatively fast?) internet access and a phone that I can use a stylus on (far too much texting when I was younger has given me sore thumbs!)

Guess it would also be helpful if I could use the phone to access the internet on my laptop although this isn't essential.

Anyone know if there's something that would suit my needs?

Thanks if you can help.

  • Tracey I use a t-mobile mda compact 2 its an older model now the compact iii is out and I love it. Windows based has a stylus excel word and msn options.
I use tmob on a flext 20 with the web and walk add on, just now you are getting £5 off flext plans in tmob stores so its costs £22.50 a month I've never exceeded my web limit so can vouch for it I recieve roughly 20 emails a day and about 30 mins browsing a day.
Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?

Thank you both - hadn't heard of the mda but have now found it on tmobile's site. Exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for.

I'll be back later tonight to see if there are any other suggestions.

    Thanks again

I have an Orange SPV M3100. It is like and XDA Mini with slide out keyboard (excellent for emails) but with 3G. Orange do a package called Orange World Unlimited. It isn't advertised and quite tricky to get hold of, but with persistence it is possible to get the service for £8 per month. This give you up to 1GB of data per month.

    http://www1.orange.co.uk/ow1/ says:
    # The Offer is an Orange World Unlimited Bundle ("the Bundle") which is available to new and existing Orange customers with 3G phones on Panther & Premier tariffs ("Eligible Customers") until 1 September 2006.
