Ordered BT infinity 2 yesterday and chose the option to pay the full 12 months line rental in advance .

Today i got my mac key from O2 after being with them for 4 years.

(fluctuations in line and sick of dropping from xbox live)

Now i had a Text from BT asking me to call them at around 8.05pm tonight .

I rang them with the ref number and the lady said that i had an old debt of £70.12 that had gone to a debt collection agency . She said that it needed to be paid and after i sort it out i could re-order the BT infinity .

I can sort of remember owing them something after i changed phone line company but never had any kind of letter saying i owed them anything !! strange .

my question is !!

If i pay this Debt off Will BT let me come back OR are they just saying i can come back just so i pay the £70.12 debt ???

I dont fancy paying this debt off if they then refuse to let me come back , as i really want BT infinity !!

Thanks

John .

I think you've answered your own question. If you dispute the debt then you should not pay it and ask for the proof of debt.
But why not get FTTC from another supplier such as Plusnet? Exactly the same service, but cheaper.

As macman says, have a look at other providers for fibre. They're generally cheaper than BT as well!
