Budgeting Loan advice please

Applied for a Budgeting Loan 10/10/12 got the offer 19/10/12, accepted the offer and posted form back 20/10/12. Rang today and was told that as yet the form has not been received by them and unless it is received by tomorrow the offer of loan will close on 31/10/12 which is Wednesday.

Obviously if it is not processed tomorrow I have been told I will need to apply again which seems ridiculous. Had lots of conflicting advice and I really don't know what to do next, is it reasonable that it has taken this long or that it is so close to the offer finishing.

I believe they can fax another form to your local Jobcentre but will it still be processed that day. Any advice would be great please, thank you.

Hi hun, was wondering what ur outcome was??
We sent acceptance back same day as u and they have not received either, told us they don't put account on hold and we would have to apply again, and our application and offer closes today :-( x

Our offer closed Weds and we have reapplied as that was all that we could do. All advice was useless and not one person even the team leaders where very helpful. Got loads of excuses as to why it could have not been received even down to the fact that we had not returned enough pages.

Obviously fed up with it all but all we can do is wait and see if the second application gets there and is successful.

If possible always return such forms recorded delivery

I always take my forms into my jobcentre and get a receipt I was told to do this by my solicitor not had any problems since

Our offer has closed, all the people we spoke to gave us the same excuses did u send page 4 and 5, it maybe in a backlog etc etc. One of staff was helpful and emailed asking for account to be put on hold but received call from payment centre saying no, we have to apply again and it's not guaranteed to be accepted.
We asked if could send recorded but was told that no point as it's opened at another office and tracking stops there, and then it's sent to another office etc.

Now very confused as was told to apply again and this morning got a letter which looks like a duplicate acceptance which was told they couldn't do. :-/

We have sent form off and have received nothing else as yet, can't see how I can get a receipt from Jobcentre as the form is only sent on from there to two different places the last one being the place that never got it in the first place. Don't know how to resolve this for the second time as after the first place it gets to what happens to the declaration after that is anybodys guess.

Doesn't seem like a very secure system but theres not a lot we can do its like if the computer says no it stays no until you go all through the rigmarole again. Lady at Post Office told me also to send it recorded but if it stops getting tracked after the first place there doesn't seem any point.

Why it has to go to two places is the bit I don't understand and if we are not successful this time I will play merry hell with someone or go to my local MP as the way we have been treated has been atrocious.

Yes we got told goes to different places and then gets processed in Chesterfield, which to me sounds silly and loads of extra costs to keep sending it on to different places to be checked before it reaches its destination to be cleared.

We have applied again, but also on Saturday received a duplicate acceptance so sent that back too, although don't understand why that was sent as was told we HAD to apply again.

I will myself post on here if second application has been accepted and awarded/declined as can't believe they can offer you it and vtake it back.

God knows what has been going on here - duplicate acceptance forms are no great deal to issue on budgeting loans.

No offer gets closed automatically on the Social Fund Computer System - it has to be done manually anyway - so if duplicate acceptance forms have been requested then an offer would never normally be non responded.

Sometimes I am alarmed at what people report they are informed of on enquiry lines...

Rang Through again this morning just out of curiosity to see if the offer of loan was closed and I was told the offer of loan is still open. I am waiting on a call back within 3 hours not expecting any joy but I was told last week in no uncertain terms if your acceptance letter is not received tough the loan is closed down you won't get it.

I was told also this morning that it is a live system and could close at anytime the operator said it could just go 20 mins after I have spoken to her, it all seems like utter garbage.

Definitely a problem at the Sheffield office how can these letters go missing and also why would you not accept a loan you have been offered or for that fact even apply in the first place, crazy stuff.
