As with BQ's you mention, they are notoriously unreliable. Quite often the questioning link to each other, meaning a wrong question could easily be answered without you knowing (or just answered correctly in your opinion), so it appears to be a gamble. Not sure of a way around this.

Not sure what you mean here.

Don't mention 25 years experience. Employers don't want people over 25 if they can avoid it. Only mention 5 years worth, maybe a max of 8.
    .

    true sometimes, but not others.

The last person I took on for a driving job, was 53 with no experience in our field, but he was smartly turned out, seemed pleasant and was genuinely looking for a change of occupation.

Usually we take on people with experience and the last driver we took on had over 25 years experience.

So it's a mix. What did happen with both of those drivers though was that it was word of mouth that brought them to our door, so don't forget to ask friends to let you know if they hear of anything.

Yes, I have. Even that hasn't worked.

Time to get out of jobless Merseyside, methinks.

Miss Sarah and Truegho - have you tried a skill based CV?

Do you think it is any better in the rest of the country? Do you think that Merseyside is the problem here, or is it perhaps closer to home?

Well, Merseyside is pretty bad for jobs. Hundreds - sometimes thousands - chasing each vacancy.

You have not answered my question - think about both points carefully before making a move.

Have you considered getting somebody to actually look at your CV? I'm happy to give it a go if you like. You can remove all personal data - I don't want to stalk you. :D

Its the same in the North East, we have an even higher unemployment level than even Merseyside :(

As for the ECDL, it's now being replaced by BTEC ITQ, I'm just about to finish my level 2, so if I were you I'd ask the work programme if they can send you on that instead of the ECDL course.

I don't know why you jump to such ill-founded conclusions! I appreciate your offer to have a look at my CV, but the thing is I have submitted it that many times to that people that, in the end, I have just become so fed up with it all. The CV is now tailored to the best it can possibly be, therefore obviating the need for any more revamps.

    But thanks anyway.
