The Bank could also "auto-uphold" your complaint without investigation if you get very lucky.
As the Banks don't reveal why a complaint is upheld then you'll never know, but it's certain your current complaint reasons are very weak.0 -

When a bank gets a complaint, it doesnt just have to look at your reasons. It will look at the overall sale of it. So, a complaint can be upheld on a reason you didnt mention. Also, whilst there were backlogs, a number of the banks were auto paying out without investigating. Some still do on small value complaints. So, some people with no valid reason for complaint get lucky.
You can make the complaint with the reasons you have but they are actually unprovable allegations. So, without any other failure identified from the banks side and assuming no auto payout, you would be rejected.
The other thing that appears to be happening is that the success rate on complaints is falling. This could be down to the banks getting better on their rejections or a realisation from the FOS that a good proportion of these complaints are opportunistic and not genuine.
If you make a complaint and have a solid and provable reason then you will stand a high chance of success. If you make a complaint based on heresay then you are reliant on getting lucky.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
