Hi. I've asked this on microsoft communities but no joy. Anyone here help?
'I've paid for windows 8 and started to install. I had to stop the install and reset my laptop to factory conditions. I now don't have windows 8 install file and can't seem to get it without paying again. Is the windows 8 download available for people who already have a product code?'
edit: Should have explained it's a microsft download I'm trying to install, not disc.
edit: Also should have said it's the Windows 8 Pro version being offered for £24.99

Win 7 was running under 64 bit so I assume 8 will install the same.
The initial install link wasn't very interactive or descriptive. It just did its own compat check and ran.
It hung twice at 29% so I decided to do a factory partition reset of win 7 and re-attempt. That was when I realised the win8 install link would not bypass the payment page nor allow me to enter the product code.
Thanks for the help. I'm at work now but will try the link and other suggestions when I get home.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
If all else fails, I've sent you a PM.0

Your purchase email starts with :
- Thanks for ordering Windows 8 (order # W?0???????)
- Windows 8 Pro Product key: ?????-?????-?????-?????-?????
- name and addy etc
- it also gives your online account here
So you are well covered. You don't however say whether you were doing a clean or an incorporated install .. .. whichever can I assume you made neither a USB install nor a DVD install ? .. .. a mistake.
Lappies often have back to front drive letters and often multiple protected partitions, in addition some Fujitsu for example have an additional OEM code secreted at MOBO / BIOS level, any 'fart' during an install routine can render the process irrecoverable, and without a 'ready made' DVD or USB install there's no where to go back to.
I've got one, and I'm sure most early adopters on here also have a USB install stick ready, that just goes in [with a Product key] just like any other Win O/S so if your stuck ask around and borrow a USB / DVD installer from someone and use your own Product key with a 'clean' install.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of Win8, upgraded from Win7 yesterday and am so far wishing I hadn't!0
