It's all about political gesturing when it was announce it was just to back up the we are all in it together rhetoric and they were hoping that by now the deficit would have been reduced enough to cancel it but now they are stuck with it.

they are stupid because the blithering lefties, students, unions etc will never vote tory because of this. they have only COST themselves votes. madness.

it isn't the amount, it is the principal. I won't particularly notice it, although it is never nice to lose some income. I'll have to stop one of the kid's ISA's or something. It is the PRINCIPLE.

Many would argue the principle is perfectly valid though. People didnt WANT joint financial associations. Its why the "married" tax went and we all got our own.

Big mortgage, live in London, wife not working, having children all your choice. The Conservatives have decided this, your so called party. Luckely we still have the money for Trident out of your child benefit reduction and luckely we will still be able to donate millions to poor countries - See the point!

The tories: never giveth and always taketh away, History repeated time and time again. I still miss my free school milk from 1977.

And before you insult me, always paid tax and not bothered who's in - their all robbing gits.

Stop one of the kid's ISA's - TWH, are you living in the real world. That means someone else's tax payment is paid into your child's bank account. WOW, your priceless.

Sounds like a double whammy. A reduction in benefits and, even worse, you might not be able to avoid the taxman by squirrelling your money into your kids accounts - the horror!

As i say, I pay vast amounts of tax. I always thought of the CB as an immensely small rebate and also, something that went straight to the wife, so I didn't have to think about it.

All I am saying is that one earner on £60 losing it all, compared to two earners on £98k between them keeping it all, IS PLAINLY RIDICULOUS.

It has almost made me not want to vote tory again because clearly they are idiots. It was so easy to say "households" on £60k or over.

Time to ship out all the benefit drones, they don't need to go to Tyneside. This nice two bedroom flat is only about half an hour by electric train from central London - probably get it for an offer of £60k? What is that a couple of years benefits?

Actually the owner must be getting desperate, the blossom on the shrubs must date back to March!
