Stop wasting your time on front-line CS, which main job is to fob the customers off.
Follow their Complaints code of practice (link seems to be not working - see Orange Executive Office thread). Ultimately you can complain to the ombudsman.

Now you have even more points to complain about:

Thanks for info, I'm assuming I should not cancel the direct debit?

    Thanks again

It's a difficult question and it depends on whether you can afford paying it or not. If you dispute the bill they are supposed not to report a late payment or a default to CRA for a while if you cancel the DD, but there is no guarantee that they do what they are supposed to do.
If you cancel the DD, pay the amount you think to be correct by other means.
If you decide to pay the full amount, it is better to cancel the DD and to pay by other means 'under protest'.
  • "it just works" . . even when you don't want it to . . .

sounds like the latest apple screw up, can't see how you can blame Orange.

I'm not sure what to ! If I pay, I loose bargain power. I'm so disappointed with orange. My contract is until march 2014! I would love to end trading with them....
