Good morning.
My darling cat is purrfect.. but there is just one thing that get my fur in a tangle!! She pulls up the carpet at my bedroom door!
I made a decision that on a night, my bedroom is for me only as I dont want her on my bed on a night, as I love to star fish!
She knows and accepts this, now... but most mornings, she want me up before I want to be, so she chucks herself at the door, scratches the paintwork (my glosswork was my pride and joy!) and pulls the carpet up so now its starting to look shabby.. its a new carpet! I arent bothered at her waking me up, its the carpet and door I am bothered about.
I showed her the pepper pot, she sniffed it and licked her lips, sprinkled it liberally, and that didnt help.....
Can you help us

You cannot train cats woman!...THEY train you!
Have you thought about a feliway diffuser?0 -
She is scent marking as well as possibly attention seeking, where is the nearest scratching post/ tree? Maybe spray the area with an enzyme based Febreze type thing? If you respond by getting up or giving her food you are feeding into the attention seeking side.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

I have the exact same problem, we have tried cat repel spray and all types of things that cats are meant to hate and apparently mine love! Our solution is a couple of cushions and a draft excluder thing against the door when we close it - no more scratching and quite often will find them asleep on them in the morning.0

Hehe Spike, your dead right there! I am her faithful slave!! Although, I really want my OWN bed.... I think thats its Catspajamas.. I had a big old picture that fit that area, I will just put that down.
I think your right Fire Fox, she is persistant though.. Its every morning. I ignore her and get up after 5 mins or so, so she doesnt see the connection. I will look out for spray, but will put the picture down til I get a mat..
Its hard enough not to give in to her, esp now its winter and I dont want her cold... awwwww Lol0 -

How about fitting a cat flap to the door? Oh, ummh sorry, that defeats the object.
We took a similar stance when we had our first kitty - bedroom was out of bounds, even though it broke my heart to listen her pitiful miaow and scratching behind the door. Then we got her spayed and she looked so out of it, I just could not bear it any longer and leave her outside the bedroom, so just got her a little cardboard box in the corner where she was overjoyed to stay. After few months though, it was not enough... she moved into our bed. She literally had 1/2 of the bed with me and hubby having 1/4 each. Not only that, when it was breakfast time (4-6am), she would jump on the chest of drawers and knock down anything she could get her paws on to make noise and ensure one of us got up and fed her. Sigh.... the cat won! She passed away nearly 3 years ago now and the other 2 are more polite - one sort of sleeps on the bed (on top of you) but will shift if needed.0 -

My older cat, Bean, starts his wake up routine at around 6a.m., first he'll knock everything off the bedside table, then the windowsill, then the dressing table, and if all that doesn't work, he gets up on the bedside table and plucks my leather bed frame, argh!
The younger one, Coco, gets on top of the wardrobe and jumps on my OH. When my alarm goes off, I reach over to press snooze and she'll be right in my face, with a bag "waaaaaoooooooooooow"
I keep saying that's it, no more getting in the bedroom at night, but I haven't actually followed through on that one yet :S
I'm actually quite thankful for their pestering some mornings when I sleep through my alarm!0
