Christmas present ideas for mum

One year I took (secretly) the slides (35mm negatives) that all my parents photos were on from when they were first married and had us kids. She never looked at them anymore as the slide viewer had broken and she does love looking back on the good times. I choose about 30 that I liked and had them made into photos and filled an album with them. She was very happy with them.0

My mum gets annoyed if I spend much on her so I've knitted her a hat and just started a matching scarf. She loves anything that costs me time rather than money.
Ex MIL on the other hand would throw them straight in the bin, if it hasn't been bought in a shop she isn't interested so it all depends on what sort of person she is.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

I raided my mums photo collection and had a canvas mosaic done, got a deal on groupon - went down really well.
Other thought is perhaps David Austin vouchers if she likes roses or theatre tickets.Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0

as a mum and grandma - it doesnt matter how 'eccentric' the pressie is! If its something I want - then its brilliant!
much better than all the extravangant gift 'baskets' of bath stuff I cant use (I am allergic to most of them or dont like the smell).
I would LOVE a magazine subscription! I love craft magazines and only buy them if the free gift is something I particularly like! to have a subscription would be heaven!
I never go to the manicurist or very rarely the hairdressers - so why would anyone think I would want a 'pamper day'? its my idea of hell!
 vouchers for those are recycled!!!
I love books - everyone knows I love books - so why dont I get book vouchers? the only vouchers I would use, but I never get any! instead people buy books for me............ones I wouldnt buy myself and get sent to charity shops!
lastly - I love homemade gifts from the grandkids! I appreciate the time and love with which they are made and I keep them. unless they are edible - in which case I either eat them or put them out for the birds!0

The magazine subscriptions not something I thought of so might have a look round see if there's one she'd like. Might be a pain though because she generally just flicks through the one's we buy but i might float the idea with sis see what she thinks.
She's 53 in January, btw. But she is quite young for her age (though not one of them who acts about 20! haha) 0 haha) 0
