I found them very helpful when opening an ISA under PoA for my mother.

They gave excellent assistance by email and on the phone and everything was done promptly just as they'd said it would be.

I have two tax years' Cash ISA's with Kent Reliance and last year I also transferred my TOISA into them. All transactions were handled quickly and efficiently and the one query I had with them was dealt with very efficiently over the telephone. Over the years I've also held various one-years savings bonds with them and as an organisation I rate their Customer Service very highly (which is a lot more than you can say for most of the major banks these days). In response to Fella's query, your TOISA fund is completely different from any Cash ISAs you may already have so there is no fear that you can't use up your annual cash ISA allowance. TOISA's are now effectively a defunct savings mechanism and if you want to transfer your TOISA to Kent Reliance, send them the transfer request form and they will deal direct with your existing povider. My TOISA took about 14 days to transfer.

As regards demutualisation, I think you may find that you can no longer carpet bag and will have to sign away any possible demutualisation benefits to charity.

There was no clause to that effect, I didn't check to see whether the Direct ISA confers membership benefits but I should have thought so.

this is direct mini cash isa info

You will receive an annual statement "in" April showing the interest earned for the tax year as well as detailing any transactions in the previous quarter. In addition to this statements will be sent in January , July and October (if there have been transactions on the account).

Thanks to purplestar for starting the thread and everyone who has replied, it's made me a lot more confident in using KRBS :)

I want to transfer in my A&L ISA and have printed off both the application and transfer form. However I couldn't find any ID requirements... do you have to send any ID when starting up an account?

No, they presumably do the standard checks and they do reserve the right to ask for further ID, but I've heard nothing more.

They try to verify your identity electronically as far as I can see.
