Broadband for less than a year? (with landline less than a year) Possible?

I live in rental accommodation (no landline currently installed)
Up until now I have been using a Vodaphone 3G Dongle. But this is just not enough. In a few months my Husband is deploying to Afghanistan for 6 months and we require a much better service. However, we're moving overseas after this deployment so only require broadband for 6-8 months.
Does anyone know how this is possible?
Virgin and BT only offer 18 month packages. The companies who offer less seem to require a BT landline already installed (which is another 18 month contract).
Is my Husband really going to have better Internet provision in Afghanistan than I do in the UK?!?!
Help!

Plusnet do a 30 day rolling contract for broadband, but there are associated costs. Worth checking with them for land line if you explain your circumstances.0

Don't know the ins and outs of military life, but is it worth asking the Army (or whichever service he's in) if they can help?0

Tesco broadband also do a 30-day rolling contract option, with a £40 set-up fee.0
