6500 miles in reverse is that a record?

3 clutches in 2 years.. And clutch issues on a new car.

Does make me think driver error.

Not seen pages and pages of people saying the clutches are faulty. As you would expect if it were a real issue.

Still only a handful. People on that have done 40k without clutch problems .

Its not clear with some what the actual problem was. Clutch slipping due to a worn disc or a failure with the slave or master cylinder.

Clutch fault soon after fitting, Wonder if they have refitted the worn plate. Seen that done before.

This is one of the most aggressive forums I've been on.

Better not go to Discussion Time part then, you will eaten alive.

I'm not sure where you found the 40,000 miles the ones I read were
    7000
    26000
    17500
    3400
    13000
and one on it's third clutch at 6k miles

As for my driving, I do a lot of town driving, but I'm not aggressive with the clutch (I revised my clutch pedal usage, after the trouble with the Getz - I NEVER drive along with my foot hovering on the pedal, now)

The last two cars I have owned (both Fiestas) were good for 40,000 miles, and had no problems with clutch wear (Both were also new)

And the only reason I bought the car in the first place, was that they had said there had never been one car returned to their dealership, which had suffered an early clutch failure (which I have in writing) They also said, they would look after me 100% if this did happen (But after the fiasco with the service plan/car delivery, I doubt this, now......)
