That's great for when going, but unless you take them with you not much good for return journey. Get some cheap ones and toss in case. Usually good enough for not getting caught for excess baggage charges.

Good solid webbing goes round the suitcase handle so no problem with hooks, and very reliable/

But where digital scales score for me is that they 'hold' the readout, so you can put the case down quickly (the analogue ones that I have seen require you to read the weight while holding the case off the ground).

We have these as well and would recommend them.

I use the Poundland ones (well I would wouldn't I) like SteveJW in post 3 but calibrated them with my mate in the British Post office. They were very very close and for Ryanair (ie. up to 10kg) perfect. Always best to double check any of them.

If fact I have them in my hand now!! They are graduated up to 22Kg but I've never taken more than 8-9Kg anywhere, and they have a little tape measure
in case you want to measure anything.

If I hold the suitcase I can't see the dial,
actually I can't see the dial without the suitcase,
maybe a diet and new glasses!

We got an electronic set of case scales from Home Bargains earlier this year for £3.99 and I reckon they are about half a kilo out when weighing a 10kg case. Otherwise they are very good with a strong webbing strap to go around the handle and the weight is recorded after about 5 seconds so that you can read it after putting the case back down.
