Anyone with Pipex Broadband?

I have been with Pipex over a year and decided to ring them a couple of weeks ago to cancel.

I was paying £14.99 a month for up to 1 Gb of downloads and 2Mb speed (although only getting 1.1mb). I saw some better offers and when i told them i wanted to cancel they offered me their phone call and broadband package for £19.99 a month. I refused this and they put me through to their cancellation department and was then (after 30 mins of waffling on their part!) offered the phone package (all landline calls free etc) and upto 8mb (receiving around 6mb) broadband with 5gbs of downloads for only £9.99 a month!!!

So if you have been with them over a year and just want a better deal it might be worth ringing too!!

(sorry if i mixed up my gb and mb!)

I am with Pipex (have been with them for 3 years). I may try it, but knowing my luck they will accept the cancellation and leave me with no broadband.

I am a little concerned about committing long term to Pipex if they are taken over by Carphone Warehouse too.

How long have you got the £9.99 deal for btw?

I had been with pipex for 4 years until last month.

My advice to you is check back in a couple of days time to verify that you are getting the offer that the cancellations department gave you. Ask them when it will be activated - and if they can put this in an e-mail to you.

thanks - re the checking the offer, all is ok as the first payment has come out of my account for the new amount.

The £9.99 deal is on a 12 month contract - then see what deals are about!
