I wondered what one device using my router was, until I realised it was my Sky HD box, forgot I hooked it up to use the anytime service.0
-
Just realised it maybe some sort of storage, the router is a huwaie hg523a and it says something about nas storage.0
-
Er, I just thought I point out that the op should expect to see 2 devices on the network - the router itself and their computer (or whatever device they are using).0

huwaie hg523aStep 1: Wired connectivity
Before setting up your wireless connection, make sure you are able to connect to the internet using an Ethernet cable.
Assuming you did that then your laptop ethernet connection would have been allocated an IP address and a DHCP lease set up which reserved that address for a period (time varies from hours to days).
When you connect via Wi Fi you are using a different connector with a different MAC and as far as the router is concerned it is a different machine so it will get a different IP and a lease.
I suspect what you are seeing as the additional machine is your old eternet connection as the lease hadn't expired. If the IP was 1 less than your current IP then that would add strongly to my guesswork.0
