  • i really want them to get some home help but they are stubborn and they absolutely refuse.

    :rotfl:

My grandad is the exact same! He is in a different part of the country to my mum(who is an only child) and he is 86. He did have somebody checking on him in the mornings and evenings but he dismissed them!! Said he couldn't be bothered with them! (and didn't tell my mum who wasn't very happy lol!) Now the only person that looks after him is my mum's cousin, and when my mum can get down to see him (she doesnt drive).
He is on porridge in the morns and just has vitamin drink thingys the rest of the day, so doesnt have to worry about the cooking side of things.

Have you tried a meals on wheels thing? My grandad had that until he could no longer eat proper meals. (Can't remember how much it was).

Not one today ...... have been hunting around for some more thermal underwear for a while - I got some fantastic ones at M&S just before going into hospital but they weren't cheap @ £14 for leggings x 1 and £14 to £17.50 for tops x 2 (various sleeve lengths).

Have found the same ones on e*bay (NWOT) @ £6 for leggings and £9.60 for tops x 2..... quite pleased:) - I could probably find cheaper but really like the M&S ones as great fit, great quality and they wash and dry really well!

They make such a difference as I get really cold due to my medical issues and once cold, really don't get warm again (even with loads of layers, heating on etc) unless I go for a bath which can get to be a pain several times a day .

So .... stocks increased a bit which will make it easier on the washing / drying front and hopefully a warmer, happier Rising during the cold months ahead.:D

  • I'm not a big poster on these forums but have decided from this month to give getting the debt down faster a go.

I had my first NSD of this month yesterday so I figured I should set myself a target.

I'm aiming for 10 NSDs this month - wish me luck :-)
