Everthe Optimist - don't worry about Igor doing the catering for your baby shower, I have already explained to him that just because it's a baby shower it doesn't mean babies are on the menu......

    Got home safely - check.
Moggies One and Two safe indoors - check (eventually - Mog One slipped out through my legs as I opened the front door, stupid creature! However, it was a bit brass monkeys out there so he was soon back in again)

Happy pole dancing, kerri, or whatever it is you're doing for the next month!

lol! not sure i'll be poling for the whole month, but it's deff been the focus of my attention recently - just added up my cotume costs and it's night on £60  still does look the bees knees if I do say so myself :o I'll share my song after the performance tomorrow.

Casserole sounds yummy - assuming igor had nothing to do with it - any chance of sharing the recipie....please :D

Am I the only one who has a mog who actually wants to go out when the fireworks are on next door, sits watching them, then comes in when they are finished?

Sausage casserole - don't know how OH made it and he wouldn't be able to remember either as he just chucks stuff in till it tastes right! Plenty of onions, sliced carrots, sliced potatoes, Lincolnshire sausages (quickly browned first) stock cubes, tinned tomatoes then whatever other spices/herbs you fancy. All done over seven or eight hours in the slow cooker. Serve with bread and butter. A shovelful of mild curry powder would probably liven it up a bit.

Tomorrow I am in the cook's chair and it will be roast lamb with apple sponge pud and custard for afters as I have a craving for things warm and stodgy. Winter draws on....

no NSD for me as explained, grandfathers birthday and poor love is blind as a bat now and therefore doesnt eat anything other than ready meals, so i bought him a big selection of ready meals from Mrs M and Mr S. food !!!!!! extraordinare. i have to say they are fantastic for buying meals for traditional tastes people, my grampa is practically over the moon about syrup sponge puddings that can be microwaved!

yeah we were getting really worried as the only vegetables my grandparents were eating were ones that came with ready meals...:( so i deliberately chose the mns "meals for one" as they come with nice veg. they dont trust themselves with boiling pans etc... i really want them to get some home help but they are stubborn and they absolutely refuse. i think their health decline has shocked us all as they have always been so amazing. My grandmother runs a antique textile business and until last year so she 85 and he 90.. they would drive all the way to the south of france visiting old chateauxs and markets loading up the car. She ran antique fairs and has her own blog. puts me to shame completely!

anyway yeah... your right, I should do this. if i can recreate my grandfather's favourite meal of all time I know it would mean so much to him.

......... my kitchen is eyeing me nervously.......
