I've acquired an iphone 3g - 8gb
I dont know much about the phone or phones in general in fact.
Given to me to help settle a debt.
I'm thinking about selling it.
It *may* be brand new. Not entirely sure how to tell. I think it still has the protective film on the phone.
In the box is a plug (still with the plastic on) and a usb wire.
There is another empty slot though, so maybe it's not brand new? (I think maybe for ear phones?)
Do brand new ones always come with earphones as well?
Inside the wallet, is an 'orange' pay as you go card.
I can't see a sim card anywhere.
Do they come with sims already in the phone?
When I turn the phone on, it says EE in the top right corner. Would that suggest the SIM is already in the phone?
So am I looking at a PAYG with orange, possibly brand new phone?
How do I know of it's 'locked'?
Bascially, if I come to sell it, I want to advertise it accurately, but I am SO NOT a phone person.
I use a £15 phone from tmobile, personally.
Any peeps here in the know on these sort of things?

the only bit I can help with is the sim part, when I recently used an iphone 3 if no sim was insert it clearly displayed a msg stating NO sim when turning the phone on.
And my phone also came with headphones ( person selling to me hadn't used them)0 -

thanks.
So I think it is a PAYG phone on orange/EE? (they the same?)
The fact that there is still plastic on the phone, and around the USB cable and the plug make me think it's brand new, although, like I say, there is an empty compartment in the box which I assume wouldn't be the case with a brand new one....0
