Sky BB and phone cancellation

Tried playing the cancellation game to try and get a Sky Homehub for free instead of £40 - just on the principle I am paying same as new customer for router which is 3 generations old.

They have given me my MAC code - can I assume if I don't use this within the 31 days - the code will expire and I will retain both BB and telephone services with Sky?

    Did you cancel or request your MAC, if the latter things will carry on as usual, if the former your services will cease.
    Sky are usually pretty good at supplying a new router, if yours is found to be faulty or suspected as being as such. I'm on my third, a F@ST 2504n.
    The current offer is half price and you save P+P if you order on line.
    That gum you like is coming back in style.
