How do I know if my iphone is 3g or 3gs?

Hi guys

I'm just upgrading my phone and looking to sell my old and battered iphone. Only thing is, I can't remember whether I bought a 3g or a 3gs and can't find anywhere on the phone that tells me what it is.

Is there some way I can tell, somewhere within the phone I can find out?

does it have the Compass app if it does it's a 3GS if not then it's the 3G

also check the Model number
A1303 is 3GS
A1241 is 3G

Perfect - it does have the Compass app and A1303 on the back so is definitely a 3gs. Have to say, I thought it was but couldn't cast my mind back the 3 years I've owned it.
