Capital one PPI mis sold

Hello there, this is my first post on this site, regarding Mis selling of Capital one PPI.
I have been told that:- You can claim it in cases:-

Job lost
Health issues
Death or any other accidental issues and also told that i can claim if some thing happens to me and i can make a claim.

Unfortunately i have to leave the job and go back to my home country because of Health issues, so i couldn't pay to my credit card, later coming here i spoke to one of the customer service to claim my ppi, but they refused and said health reasons cannot be claimed under this insurance.

So, I spoke to the Customer service Manager about misselling of Insurance and logged a complaint against misselling of ppi. Now i received a letter saying as PPI COMPLAINT SETTLEMENT FORM. stated in that they redress total offer consists of £44.11 refers to refund of full amount of ppi premiums and associated interest charged to my account.

I wasn't actually able to pay my balance which i have used it. Upon that i pay them lot of interest and also Minimum balance for every month, which was more than my credit limit.

So please give me some instructions to how to claim my full insurance back.

Thanks

    Hi and welcome

First of all did they provide you with a written breakdown?
As I note the offer, but basically what you should have back is all you paid of the PPI, plus relevant interest.

I am not certain, but believe charges can be reclaimed for separately, will try to find details and post shortly for you.

    Is the card still active?

Credit card charges on the link/forum below, you should be able to receive the correct advice from that thread in regards of charges etc.......keep it separate to the ppi reclaiming.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=102

Going back to the PPI, how long was the card active for?

As it appears you have already made a ppi complaint but verbally, usually it is best to do so by writing to them or completing the reclaim questionnaire form, but as they have already dealt with it, and if your not happy, you do not have to accept that offer.

But you need to find out on how they came to that figure, maybe if the card is still active and there was still a balance owed, maybe the main of it went towards the credit card to help reduce the balance, and the remaining to you.

This is just what may have happened, and depending on your circumstances if the card is still active or not.

Hope this helps, but please check out the credit card charges thread above as well.

    Good luck.

It sounds like you only paid less than £44 in PPI premiums. Is that the case?

Sounds more likely the Bank are only paying redress up until the time the OP defaulted.

I did wonder if its the surplus above the amount defaulted.
