I've had a brief look and can't really see any prices that are particularly special or hugely discounted so I think it may just be some of that good old Marketing Hype

Pile of poo - 2 adults to Amsterdam for 2 nights in May - average price was £950!!! I guess there must be a problem with their site.

It really is quite poor, the pages don't load, the FT banner as in Firefox takes over and even when closed won't actually go away. I've given up.

Anywhere else I can try anyone? I guess Expedia is one.
  • What is the deal with cancelling bookings? E.g. I see something interesting, book it and change my mind. Would I get a full refund? I guess distance selling regs don't apply to holidays..
If booking a hotel, the amount of refund given seems to be decided by the hotel and not Lastminute. I guess it'll be the same for flights etc. Lastminute do make a charge for cancelling of £10 or £15, cant quite remember which.
Questions are a burden for others; answers a prison for oneself.

Expedia is for people that have no idea how much things cost, just tell them it's a bargain or we cut prices and they are happy............try this test....with Expedia or Lastminute.........price a flight Gatwick-Malaga........350 pounds is the reply......try a low cost operator 75 pounds is the answer............Lastminute loses millions of pounds every year. Expedia is'nt much better. If you are convinced by banner headlines and wild exageration of savings then you will never be a Moneysavingexpert

antenna, although I would probably agree with your post 75% of the time, I always find it worth checking on Expedia and lastminute (Expedia in particular) as they DO sometimes have cheaper prices. Several times we've booked hotels in America through Expedia as they haven been far cheaper than booking direct, other UK sites, US sites etc etc.

But then on the other hand, it depends what you're looking for! Often I will look and flights etc are far more expensive on these sites, so guess you just need to be in the right place at the right time, looking for the right thing!

Agreed. They are a rip off.
