Two peppers, whatever size, is a creative achievement. You should be very proud.
Thanks. There are more growing, too.A long story, but I get given rejected bananas, lots of them. Just as well I like them! All summer I have put the skins around plants and in the compost bin. Some of the plants were near death, most especially the bay tree. It is now green and verdant, complete with what might be berries! Use the whole banana! You can also make leek/onion and potato omelette, with or without cheese. If you make double portions it works well as a sandwich filling, really it does!
Exceedingly slow omelette?Today the weather is appalling, I so wanted to get out in the garden, I suppose the benefit is that most of the leaves will be down so I won't have to have so many sessions clearing them...Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Two peppers was certainly an achievement - for me ten plants equalled zero peppers but I am not going to dwell on that!

Not sure whether to plant broad beans or potatoes in the first terrace? (Broad bean seeds are already in trays, but I've had to order the seed potatoes).
I'm not sure why people buy seed potatoes? I've used " left over" potaotes. I just wait for them to start " rooting" then plant them. But i guess these potatoes only cost me 10p, in the first place. :rotfl:
Mmm, broad beans..............Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Worth buying the less edible 10p bananas?
I'm not sure if you can make an omelette in a slow cooker?
Exceedingly slow omelette?
Hurrah, most of the leaves ARE nearly down. I'll wait for the final session.
I'm not capable of the clever multi quotes from one post and I can't find any instructions. Never mind I will pick out bits and you will have to try to pick out the answers....sorry!
At this time of year the 10p bananas can only go on the compost. It's the plants dormant time and they don't need feeding. Do you have an area for compost?
Yes, you can make omelette in the slow cooker. It cooks on slow for around 7 hours. Just put in the potato and leeks and pour on the beaten eggs. Cheese can be added in the last half hour.
I've still an oak tree that hasn't dropped it's leaves yet, so will be while until all the leaves are cleared. You can make leaf mold from the dropped leaves. Bag them up in bin liners, tie up the top, punch holes in the bag and leave somewhere out of the way for six months to a year. The leaf mold can be used as a mulch to enrich the soil next year.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Yesterday started off well, financially. I am trying to make an effort to walk to the 10p shop everyday, if i can, as i am getting more and more housebound. 10p spent on a HUGE cauliflower, so the pieless cheese pie, is now expanding to incorporate leeks, cauliflower and carrots, as i also got a bag of carrots for 9p from the supermarket.
Yes. I decided to visit the supermarket at closing time, and ended up spending an unplanned fortune on reduced " stuff." A freshly cooked chicken for £2.49, two cream cakes for 35p, ( i was seriously miffed as someone bought 12 donuts for 49p,) Not that i eat donuts, ( or cream cakes, for that matter,) and i would have thrown most of them away, but i seriously fancied a donut at that price.A prawn and egg sub for 25p, some reduced halloween " stuff," and two plants for £3, proving i still spend more on plants than i do on food. :rotfl:Total spend yesterday, a shocking £7.28. ( largely on plants.)
My two new friends? I couldn't resist. Described as a cottage garden perennial, Penstemon in picotee red.
Ah well.
With the onset of colder weather, i've also decided i should create some sort of store cupboard. I'm not planning on spending a fortune. Maybe £10 or £20, but all those things it is expensive to buy here, if you are snowbound or housebound. I can always get the fresh items, if i can get out. I keep forgetting to buy macaroni, and i'm almost out of it. That sort of stuff, so i can always concoct something?
Also just received a letter from age u* saying i have been referred to them for social and recreational activities. Ah well :rotfl:Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I'm not " clever " either. :rotfl:
Jist pick out your sentence or phrase, and putat the beginning of the sentence, and
Oh dear, difficult to errr, not do?
For instanceI'm not capable of the clever multi quotes [/QOUTE]
Obviously with this added :rotfl::rotfl:
Well, not obviously, as i've had a touch of dyslexia when spelling QUOTE, to show you how it's done. Therefore, spell QUOTE, correctly.
Does that make sense? No.At this time of year the 10p bananas can only go on the compost. It's the plants dormant time and they don't need feeding. Those flowers are beautiful Ani, they remind me a lot of snapdragons. They look lovely next to the little purple flowers, I think landscape gardening is obviously a talent of yours!0

Here is a link to making compost. You don't need a bin, just a corner in the garden and some polythene. See what you think.

I actually used some of my homemade compost in pots with geraniums and petunias, not sure if I was supposed to, but they flowered a treat!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
