My seeds haven't arrived and the dogs have dug a HUGE hole in the grass. Plus I was looking at pictures of the garden when we first moved here- it was lovely, I had convinced myself it was always a mess but no we did this - we created the wasteland of overgrown bushes and no flowers.

I have to go out today and don't want to!

Ani - I am glad you can see your garden! Still cold here frost on the cars this morning but no snow any more thankfully.

    Take care xx

    And you xx

Just think, your seeds will be arriving soon?

The garden is becoming awash with colour, once again. Mostly purple crocus and daff, of course. Along with the white stuff not touched by the sunshine. Why did they plant so many purple crocus?

Today i have bought a pack of many canes, for the sweet peas. Now i can sit and think, i really must attend to them? Thinking is as far as it goes. Ok, so i WILL do something with them? Maybe. Maybe not. I've visited a couple of nurseries, today. My plants are doing as well, if not better than some of theirs? I can't help thinking maybe i should acquire one of these plastic greenhouses, such as the nursery has? Ready made heating? I could fix it on a corner of the patio. Along with a ton? of bricks. :rotfl: Ms double fresia, have i potted them too soon? although the fresia lasted all last summer. Poached eggs are ready to eat? Now i really should do something with them? I have found suitable plastic spoon. All i have to do, is make the effort? I still haven't repotted Mr and mrs sunflowers, either. However, they are still having a party in elephant poo, in plastic bag, in box. Time for a sigh. Truth told, i've become overfaced by all these plants? Who could have predicted? I also have resident spiders, now. Well, there's got to be a downside to growing a garden indoors? Eccentricity at it's most eccentric? What seemed like a good idea at the time?

I've seen some of the plants i wanted, last year. Why didn't i buy some seeds? £3.50 a plant. No.

I think they are called senecio. :-

I want some bright crimson and purple? Truth told, i'll eventually succumb to buying a plant? I will look on the market.

These would be a colourful addition to any patio, if at first? They have very startling, vivid colours. I WANT some. :rotfl:

On the unexpected front, i received a present. Someone gave me a present for helping them?

  • Ani I think I have guessed why you can`t listen to Petula - you don`t know where the button is that switches on the sound - am I right?

I will let you into a little secret - I had this laptop for over three years before I discovered it would do sound - well nobody ever told me did they. Even then I only discovered it by accident while trying to remove cake crumbs from the keyboard.

I now have a new challenge to tax my brain - I was given a mobile phone for Christmas (for my own safety as I suffer from vertigo and keep taking tumbles) but still haven`t worked out how to use it, although I did once manage to take a photo with it - by accident of course. My children have told me how to use it many times but I just can`t seem to remember for more than about five minutes so it is about as useful as a chocolate teapot to me - yet another gimmicky gadget I can`t get my head round.

Oh sorry, I have gone a bit off topic there - this thread is supposed to be about gardening isn`t it but can`t think of much to say about that at the moment apart from it being to cold and windy to be out there right now.
  • It is bloody snowing!!!!!!

And did you see the One Show yesterday - all about spring not coming, I like the gardener person on there a woman, makes me feel like it could be done

    Hope you are keeping warm.

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Not at all. It comes into the 'amongst other things' category?

It's stopped snowing here and we have sunshine, it may reach 7 degrees today :T No gardening for me though as I have to work :(

Those senecio look lovely I thought they only came in yellow. I am trying very hard not to be tempted by any more plants. I don't have space indoors!

I must go to work, will try to pop back later.

Those senecio weren't senecio after all, although they look like those in the foti. :rotfl:

They are Senetti. Senetti, senecio, what's the difference? I call them cineraria. :rotfl:

Apparently they are a new hybrid group of varieties obtained by cross - breeding. Formerly called senecio. I shall call them cineraria. Or maybe i should call them Senetti, as that is how they were labelled?

    It's all so confusing? :o

    Oh yes, did i mention?

I went back and bought some senetti / senecio / cineraria. Well, you didn't expect me to resist, did you? I've spent more on plants than i have on food, this week. Ne'er mind, i've eaten healthily. I don't think i even spent a fiver?

Actually, i got a whole crate full of plants for £20. Bargain. Total value of plants? £55. I purchased 5 azaleas, (priced at £6.95,) for £1.50 each, (including terracotta pots.) Bargain. Four senetti, two purple and two more purple. :p Well, not purple, more crimsony purple. Magenta?

They are A M A Z I N G. Kind of brilliant fluorescent? Iridescent? Luminous? All? I'm not sure what word to use to describe them?

Ok. I shall not buy anymore plants. :rotfl: Repeat after me.............

However, i've been looking for the senetti for the past year. I shall buy some seeds and grow further plants? If i can find some, that is. The only plant i want now, are some white azaleas, as i have a collection of pale pink, dark pink, mixed pink............:rotfl: Cough, splutter:rotfl:

Did i mention? I also bought a beeeutiful light pink heather for £1.50? I now have some white and pink heather.

Here are senetti, although no amount of photos are never going to do them justice :-
