Ani - Just let me know when you fancy venturing out ... I don't think it's gonna get warmer anytime soon!!! Though I was outside dancing in the 'sunshine' this afternoon (I had thermals on under my normal clothes :) )

Anytime you're free? No, it's not going to get any warmer, for at least another month?

-4 c here again this morning, and still trying to snow. :D:eek:

  • Oh yes Ani, painting is certainly therapeutic, as is gardening of course.

Musical I am not but I like to listen to Petula Clark singing "Thank You" on my computer each morning - really sets me up for the day. Do you know it?

The snow has gone and it's sunny and above freezing, but a bitterly cold wind is blowing. The ground is still way too cold for any planting out. Although the spring bulbs are looking healthy. The white daffodils in the milk churn should be in flower soon, the tulips and hyacinths are a long way off yet.

I've sown yet more seeds, not sure what I'm going to do with them all if they actually grow!

The freebie potting bench is half painted in forget-me-not blue, it's a wonderful colour :D

I didn't know you were a musician ani. They do say plants appreciate music, maybe that's why your seedlings are romping away.

  • I'm over in Belgium and I see the sun!!!!!!!!! Yes it's back. Apparently only temporary though as they say Thursday back to -7°C

I wanted to start small on my patio with an easy maintenance plant/flower/small tree of some sort. There is a bit of sun light (though not all day as the patio has walls all around) the weather is a bit like the midlands in the UK (so we get quite a bit of rain). Any idea what I could start with? I also have cats so would prefer something that will not make them sick (and I think they would too ;)).

Oooooh and can it be pretty too or am I asking too much? :D

The crocus have been flattened. I now have squashed specimens, in the garden.

In fact, i now have a garden. Almost. There are still some pockets of the white stuff, but on the whole, i can see the garden again. It's been almost two weeks?

Music has been banished from my life for some time.

It's all a question of personal taste? Do you have a local market you can visit, ( i'm sure you must have,) and grab whatever takes your fancy? Visual impact?

    A starting point, at least?

    Is this what you mean?

My seeds haven't arrived and the dogs have dug a HUGE hole in the grass. Plus I was looking at pictures of the garden when we first moved here- it was lovely, I had convinced myself it was always a mess but no we did this - we created the wasteland of overgrown bushes and no flowers.

I have to go out today and don't want to!

Ani - I am glad you can see your garden! Still cold here frost on the cars this morning but no snow any more thankfully.

    Take care xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Yes Buffy, that`s the one - my version has pictures of Petula on it though so possibly a different backing group - not sure really as I am tone deaf. Have a listen Ani it will truly lift your spirits I`m sure.
