Hpi?
Options
I am buying a 53 plate honda crv from a main dealer. He has provided a copy of their HPI check, do i need to do one independently or can i rely on his.
I am slightly worried as I have paid a deposit of £500 but have not yet seen the V5c and took his word for previous owners.
When I tried to arrange the temp ins cover given by honda for 7 days the ins co told me the car is a sport or exec model but it's not it's an SE. I called honda but no one can seem to provide the V5c info at the moment - lots of excuses- said they will have the info by 3pm. Not sure i want to buy this car any more.

If it's a Honda main dealer, there's probably little to worry about. It's more likely to be them suffering a stroppy admin assistant than it is trying to pass off a dodgy car - it's not worth risking their franchise to make a few extra pounds.0

i agree with philhuff you should not have a problem with a Honda dealer.
There are two sides to every story.

dont be so sure. a friend bought a bmw from a dealer without seeing the v5 first. she was told only one owner from new. the v5 came back from dvla showing 3. the dealer was not interested, saying it dont matter! 2 year old car with 3 owners?0 -
Well apparently the v5 has now been located, might have had something to do with the fact i asked to speak to the manager of the group. We'll have to see when we get there exactly whats on it. Everything else now seems ok. the contract is subject to another test drive so nothings definate yet.
thanks for the feedback.0
