I am thinking of buying a new Bloor home, however I am finding it difficult to find out what the costs of carpets, turf, dishwashers etc are. Does anyone have any experience of purchasing a Bloor home?

No but my experience of one builder is their prices are scandalous .
For example 2300 for appliances. 1200 For basic looking carpets in a 800 square foot home . You could do both much cheaper.
If i was being cynical i might think they are over priced so when they throw them in you think your getting more free than what you are.
The easy way to find out is to ring or pop in and ask0 -
ask the sales negotiator, he or she gets extra to sell these items so will be quick to give you prices, you will pay for convenience, like having floor carpet down the day you move in otherwise you wont normally be able to fit your own before moving in daymy bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0

You need to get this stuff for "free" to cover a small percentage of the drop in value of the house because it's not new anymore.0

Not Bloor but Taylor Wimpey recent charges:
Integrated dishwasher £520
Carpets for 4 bed £2800
Turf and fence £300
Socket or tv point £65
Outside light £115
Half tiled bathroom £6000 -
Hi there! I'm in the process of buying a Bloor property so I have the price list. How many beds is it? The prices for turf is dependent on the size. They never quote a price for carpets or flooring but they do appear to offer it for free in most cases without too much encouragement. I have to say that I was very disappointed with the standard spec, it is the most basic out of all the developers that we saw..0

Here are some examples of what I paid:
Dishwasher £600
Washing machine (higher spec Siemens) £720
Upgraded chrome towel rail £120
Loft light £75
Double socket with TV point £100
External electric socket £120
Outside tap £90
Shed £325
Turf (4 bed) £595
Hope it helps!0 -
Hi there, my partner and i have just reserved a DWH property. We got a price list of all extras in the home buyers pack although I'm sure the sales advisers would supply you with one. We negotiated £7500 off the asking price but that meant that the house will come with no flooring.
We can arrange to get the keys a few days before the actual handover date so that flooring people can go in a tile/carpet and let it settle before we move in, but we will have to sign a document as the house won't actually be *ours* at that point.
We do get a turfed and paved back garden and turfed front garden, tv point, tiled bathrooms and doorbell as standrad though. The appliance prices are astronimical though. We will definitely be buying our kitchen appliances elsewhere. I guess it varies from developer to developer.0 -
We have just exchanged on a Bloors home. We managed to get most things included in our price. Carpets, chrome electrical points, chrome towel rails, ceramic floors, led lights, extra external lights, outside tap, burglar alar
m, we were worried about feeling cheeky at first but it was worh it! Kitchen is fitted but we upgraded to induction hob and Siemens fridge and oven, which was 700 pound. Turf is 595 and we were told this is a standard price no matter what size of plot is. we are going to do garden ourselves when weather improves. We put an offer in 15 grand below asking including the extras which was accepted.0 -
CAW87 I am so jealous!! I had to fight just to get lino thrown in and had to pay for everything else. Your negotiating skills put mine to shame :-(0

It was my husband, he drives a tough bargain!!! We did find out later from a different sales woman that we had done uncommonly well in the incentives department. We were in a good position to buy though, so it helped a lot! Which region are you buying in DiscoCat?0
