loose dog poo

Comments

  • Oh god, that happened to me on Wednesday! I took the dog and my youngest son to the seaside for the day, as the dog loves to run on the beach. When we came off, we were walking down the prom, looking in the shops etc when the dog stopped for a poo. It was a horrible one! I had my poo bags with me, but I couldn't really pick any up.......

I felt really bad about it, but I did my best in the circumstances!

If I am out in fields and the poo is really loose then I get up what I can and then scuff up some earth to kick over the rest.

Doesn't help that dog has seen me do that though and so now my garden is full of holes :(

don't let the dog(s) poo in the garden - train it/them to 'go' when it's out for a walk.

that way you can let the kids out without worrying they'll get it on them.

Or train yourself to walk the dog when it needs to poop? Should not encourage them to hold onto their business for any length of time, it is not any more healthy for them than it is for us.

I would try to avoid the squitty bum in the first place - have you tried an exclusion diet to rule out dietary allergies?
My two's poos have never been easier to pick up than since we switched to raw. Compact, dry little nuggets that you could almost pick up with your bare hands (almost!)

Id have to agree with Krlyr - investigate why the dog had the squits and eliminate the problem

Loose bum usually means the food you are feeding doesnt suit. Poo should be small firm dry pellets - think bigger rabbit droppings/ Slime, or looseness means theres a problem - usually dietry

Loose poo can also be caused by stress, and in a house with 5 kids, I think I 'd be a bit stressed too.....
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
