Best way to buy Sky

Hi folks
Hopefully moving into a new place in a couple of weeks time and want to kit it out with some decent telly after years of awful BT Vision
After doing some research on full price TV and broadband options across all providers - I've got a really geeky spreadsheet - Sky, seems to my best option. Note, I've been researching online and havent called Sky directly
I'm after:
-- Sky TV, Movies and Sports, all in HD
-- Sky Fibre Broadband (regular BB in my area isnt that great)
-- No need for calls
Naturally I'd like to bring the projected £88 p/m down as far as I can, hence me coming back to MSE.
I've heard some horror stories about Quidco & Sky cashback - seems to be a real reluctance to pay people the money
Can any of you smart folk suggest any other way of shaving some money off?
Would calling them and mentioning Virgin Media get me a result?
Also not sure if they've got any Xmas promotions coming up?
Any other reliable cashback sites?
Apologies if this is a bit of a standard 'Sky money off' post, but couldnt find a direct answer via search!
Thanks
Funnily enough if you're an existing customer Retention will give you a better price than this to retain your custom if you already have a Sky account or speak to WinBack if you previously had a Sky account at a previous address.0 -
My husband had a sky account at our previous address and we cancelled however I wish to get sky at our new address in my name. When we spoke to them they said we would have to set up a new customer account rather than a home move (I deal with all the bills and Everytime we had problems sky wouldn't speak to me so it got a bit tiresome, hence why wanting it now in my name.) Anyway I've been looking on the sky site and quidco to see what offers are available and I don't know whether to go for the full package online with hd, sport, movies and unlimited talk and broadband, or maybe just go for the basic entertainment with unlimited broadband and hope that they send us offers to upgrade? Do you think that is likely for new customer? Any advice is appreciated, thanks.0
