    Afternoon all:),

Was doing an A v T £40 shop this morning and was handing over my Special K vouchers, APG, £5 off to the SA when the person behind me in the queue says " excuse me are you artha?". Taken aback a little I said yes, realising it must be a local MSEr
( should have known if I'd looked at what was on the conveyor;)
It was Barbara6812:rotfl: We began chatting and the SA looked a bit confused saying something like "If you're artha then why do the coupons say *** *****? Don't worry about it I said, too difficult to explain:o

Great to meet another local and looking forward to a coffee some time with the rest of the "coven" (as David. would put it:rotfl:)

    Drat. Thanks for trying

I didn't do a baking shop today after all. Going to try tomorrow probably. I'll be doing the A's own brand 1kg icing and will report back

Not the best day for comparison results

    APG lies
A's 1kg ready to roll icing does not count as 1 of your 8 items
Betty Crocker buttercream comes up n/a in T

    PP lies
Pepsi max 2 litre comes up N/A in Mr A

    :wall:

No it actually was £3.60 (2x £1.80). They were one of the few that weren't on 2 for £2 (as shown on MSM). In store I didn't see any signs for 2 for £2. Perhaps I should have tried a couple of the others to see if it was only showing at the till and not on the shelves or APG:o

Rose, I'm sorry that your family are acting this way and after you have spent time looking after mum in the way you have.
I looked after my mum but I was lucky as I was able to secure a place in a day care centre for her twice a week whilst I was at work.
Mum used to collect her pension every 2 weeks, she would keep one weeks money and get the post office to 'bank' the other weeks money into her Barclays account. It so happened that mum was ill for 3 weeks and we didn't collect her pension until the 4th week.
Anyway, the upshot was that mum had altzimers and when my brother called round to see mum she told him I had banked her money, which I had, but he accused me of putting it in my bank. I was livid, my sister had all mums bank statements and all she had to do was look at them and confirm money had all been paid in. Sister just said she didn't want to get involved.
So for the past 5 or 6 years I have not had a brother and I'm happy with that. No apology comes my way but I know I did what I could for mum and she was happy
I think that my brother was jealous of me and my sisiter tbh, I am comfortabley off financially and no mortgage so had no need at all to steal.
Rest assured Rose you are not alone, it still makes me mad when I read of similar situations to mine. Rise above it Rose, you know you have done a damn good job and it is likely to be greed that motivates these rotten people.

Sorry for the rant but I guess it's been long overdue x

Thanks and to the others who replied and sent hugs. Just took Mum her T and sat with her for an hour. She told me my brother called and said he has decided she does not need a gardener. My Dad had a lovely garden and every since he died she has insisted it be kept up together. So my brother found someone who basically had about £400.00 off my Mum for taking down the greenhouse and covering 2 borders so the weeds cant get through, then other brother sent a labourer who had £200.00 for mowing the lawn and cutting the hedge. Then no gardener for a few months so I took my mower and did the lawns. ( as Dads mower has disappeared ). In September whilst I was away my sister found another gardener who has been 3 or 4 times and is really good. He also is cheaper and only comes 4 hours at a time.

Anyway they obviously have taken no notice of my email and when my sister just rang and agreed with my brothe I put her straight. I said you lot employed all these gardeners at a cost to Mum when we could have all got together ourselves and done it. I am the only one who inherited my Dad's green fingers and Mum has some lovely pots and hanging baskets I made. So I told her I need a quiet night and maybe she should read the email again.

So went to Mr T and got set of teaspoons, 1 febreeze spray, 2 five beans, 2 reloaded ( 1st I have bought) Carte Dor creme brulee ice cream and 2 finest reduced meals for Mum. Spent the grand sum of something like £4.25 ( approx left receipt in the car and cant be bothered to go out).

Forgot to say to Nikkilala Have a lovely time with DS tommorow.

    Hi there

I bought the Hail Fire a few weeks ago in Smyths Toys for about £28 when they had a 20% off promotion

There's currently £5 off £50 floating around but might be worth keeping an open for their big early Christmas promotion if you don't get lucky elsewhere

Thank you, I did get one a few weeks ago at Smyths too a there was a voucher in the sun for £5 off a £20 spend and they had it for £35. This is why I'm looking for it under £30 :rotfl:
I don't mind if I don't get it cheaper but with being money conscious (tight) I'd like to get it cheaper :D

I returned a toy to Toscos today because my mum had bought the same one, CS SA winked at me when she looked at the reciept price and her till price then said to me 'as you've lost your reciept we can only exchange it to the value of £xx.xx' (more or less double what my mum had paid ). What to do? so picked out a very nice Lego set for DS for Xmas :o. First time this has happened to me, just when I was feeling carp made me feel a bit better.
    SPC #329 £471/£500 banked
    SPC 2014 £1100:D
