In theory if the wine discount starts on Thursday then you should be able to do the 1st trial shop about 2 or 3 am - I was told their computers update around this time ( mind you I was told this years ago )

My store had the right wine today but no 34£12 sign - so will this offer still be on tommorow or will they do like s did in previous wine festivals and remove the multibuys ....

According to .com the 3 for £12 offer runs till 20/11

    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/SpecialOffers/SpecialOfferDetail/Default.aspx?promoId=A29979005

If the 25% discount goes ahead and is off base price as previously, the Ogio red and Ogio White at £9.99 each would be discounted by £15 and £36, total discount £51 off a £60 spend (give or take 6p :)), so £9 for the 6 bottles. One to hit early i think as shelves will be cleared sooner rather than later.

  • Lost £1.50 on apg with stupid filler choices. Tho I can't believe a garlic baguette is 1.50 in tosco and only 40p in Sada. Also milk digestives lost 75p. C'est la vie.

I had my first ever major trouting today at ASDA. Here's the email I sent to the CS dept which details my story:

"I am emailing you in relation to the way I was treated and spoken to at your B*********l store today.

I spent over an hour and a half wandering around your store and filling my trolley with £90+ worth of groceries. As the manned checkouts were busy, presumably due to half-term, I opted to take my time packing my goods at the self-service checkouts instead. After scanning all my items, I proceeded to the payment screen and took the dozen or so coupons out of my bag to scan before parting with my cash. These coupons were all legitimate, either printed from the electronic, online version of Metro newspaper, taken from manufacturer's pages on Facebook or printed PDFs provided on the manufacturer's website. As these coupons required assistance, I waited for a member of staff to help me out.

Upon her arrival, she picked up the first coupon (valid for a free can of Heinz Beanz) and immediately stated, "we can't take this, it's fake". Obviously, I argued my case and pointed out where I had found the coupon online but she was adamant. She said she'd have to speak to a manager and disappeared to do just that. Upon her prompt return, she stated that the coupon wouldn't be accepted. I decided not to argue the point and instead asked for assistance with the rest of my coupons.

This was at 1.35pm. She took all of my coupons after a short look through them, stating "none of the barcodes (on the coupons) match the barcodes on the items" - a totally ridiculous point to make, as if they did, they'd just scan at the price of the item, surely - and again went to speak to a manager. I was left at the self-service checkout with my bagged shopping until 2.10pm. Throughout some of this time, I could see the member of staff a number of aisles away perusing my coupons with another member of staff. Occasionally, the other members of self-service staff popped over to them and huddled around my coupons as if they had never seen printed paper before. During these 35 minutes, not one member of staff apologised for my inconvenience, nor the wait I was enduring waiting to find out if my legitimately-obtained, perfectly valid coupons were, indeed, just that.

This is not the first time I have used these coupons in the B***********l store - in fact, only two days previously, I used a number of them at a manned checkout and they were accepted graciously.

At 2.10pm, the member of staff returned with the words, "Bad news, I'm afraid. We can't take ANY of them". These coupons were, I repeat, a mixture of PDFs, Safe Coupons (with unique barcodes), Facebook offers and e-Metro issued print-outs. After a 35 minute wait, with no apology, to have staff insinuate I was committing fraud in order to obtain a tin of beans, amongst other items, I abandoned all of my shopping and left the store. Again, I received no apology for the stress, embarrassment nor time wasted in shopping at the store.

In addition, I spent £6.80 in bus fare to get to and from the store. At least, in one respect, I have saved money as it is extremely unlikely this will be resolved to my satisfaction so I will instead take my business to Tesco. I am appalled, furious and bewildered that this happened, particularly as I'd used coupons in this store without hassle before. These coupons are legitimate and should be accepted. I will be forwarding this email to the manufacturer's of the products concerned to make them aware that their promotions are being hindered by badly-trained staff and poorly-implemented store policies. Let me just say this - although I've not had a problem until today at ASDA, I have never had an issue at Tesco, Sainsbury's or Waitrose. It was a not insubstantial amount of money I was due to spend in your store and I am baffled as to how what amounted to £5's worth of coupons were refused for the most tenuous of reasons.

What seems ironic is the way suspected shoplifters are taken to one side and spoken to discretely, yet myself, using coupons, was embarrassed in front of everyone using the self-service checkouts during the 30 minute period I was there.

I fear now, I will be too embarrassed to return; too fearful that my time will be wasted and my coupons not accepted."
    That is shocking.

They really do need to get their act together whatever it is and pass that down to every member of staff. We know they have huddles or whatever it is called team briefs basically well tell them what their own coupon policy is and make sure they know it is not open to sa to decide that asda/tesco do not take coupons.

As it just causes hassle when they are looking at them like you are printing dodgy £10 notes.

I do understand that they will have lost money on photocopied /dodgy vouchers but train staff for what to look for they also lose money on shoplifters but they do not get everyone to empty pockets bags etc on the way out.

Actually my local asda the buzzer goes off at the exit and even though the c/s is right next to it and ss no one moves you have to come back in (like any honest shop lifter would do) and then stand in line at c/s for someone to try and find what is setting the alarm off.
    Rant over :D

Good evening all, I've not been on here for a while. And there's a new thread! Hope you are all well. I'm going to read back a few pages to see what I've missed.

That is truly awful customer service at that store. I hope the staff there get a very stern reprimanding and retraining.

Having been trouted in a similar way but to a lesser extent I can understand that there's nothing that will take away the embarrassment and feeling of having been seen as a criminal just for doing your shopping, but hope that the CS department make a proper gesture towards compensating you for this experience.
Keeping you standing there for so long and without apology is terrible - frozen or chilled food will have spoiled while they farted around accusing you of faking the coupons. Reading your post brought back my experience and I am so angry on your behalf.

    It's only a game

  • Not surprising really is it . The amount of reloaded and 5 beans people have been getting .
They were meant to be for only a certain amount of items, I think the reloaded was meant to be limited to 1000.

I don't think it's the Beanz and reloaded I think it's the fake ones that were on eBay as they were high value coupons.
