Have you tried Asda opticians? They are ridiculously cheap and have a set price regardless of prescription - £99 for designer Varifocals or £79 for standard varifocals.
http://www.asda-contactlenses.co.uk/opticians/complete-pricing/
I have a complex prescription (-10, -11) and normally my lenses alone set me back at least £300, I've been able to get mine for under £100 with Asda for a few years now - it's an excellent deal IMHO. For me it's worth the extended trip as I save so much.
HTH. How's the banjo?
Asda is perhaps another option then although I never realised they did specs. Never noticed them in our local superstore.
The banjo has been sadly neglected of late but I always have one of my guitars leaning against the chair arm so that I can have a quick tinkle(:rotfl:) when I sit down to take a break.Awaiting a new sig0 -
I believe the trick is to get a Vinnies tin plus 2 chocs in the 3 for £10 offer at Asda. You need to get 2 chocs that you have checked are cheaper at Waities, Tesco, Sainsbury or Morries than the full Asda price (before the 3 for £10 kicks in). The comparison system will totally ignore the biscuits and will think you have paid full price for 2 chocs (£6 ...ish each). The difference plus 10% will come back on an APG.better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all.0

I have several clear zipped wallets - one for Sainsburys conditional spends and till spits, one for Boots and one for Marks, different colours zips. I also had one for Waitrose at one time.
For the main couponing I have 3 coloured concertina wallets. After the death of MOCs I was only using 2 but since T have decided to issue so many of their own MOCs and so many printables I now use 3. These I've had 4 or 5 years now and are indestructible and go everywhere with me - obviously not out of the UK!
They used to just be in date order but as the number of MOCs has increased I've had a bit of a resort.
The pink one has MOCs I dont think I am going to use but I carry them around anyway just incase. The green one now has my APGs at the front and everything ending at the end of October in the various sections. The blue one has my TPPs at the front, then the T conditional spends, then the CC points vouchers and then the various T only MOCS
I also tend to put similar things together eg tea MOC together, coffee MOC together.
Lists for various stores are also put with APGs or TPP sections or in with conditional spends along with the right MOCs“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Artha,
My experience with Tesco could have been very expensive even with the Double up. I eventually had the free eye test and got a quote from T then went to Asba with my prescription...... resulting in a saving of £280.
They are from £79 for single vision lens and £99 varifocal Take your prescripion into them and get a quote it costs you nothing and could save you £££££££s
Thanks nairny54. That;s you and sorryaboutmywife voting for sada.
By the way did I spot a post of yours recently that suggested you were one of our Teesside locals?:)Awaiting a new sig0 -

Wondered if anyone could help please:) I noticed that the Clubcard Exchange can be used for opticians. As I've just had an eye test(at Boots) and now need some rather expensive varifocals. I know I can just take my prescription to my Tesco optician but was wondering whether clubcard optician spend has any restrictions?
Guess I'll find out next week but has anyone got any experience of this? TIA:)

Hope you don't mind me adding a bit to this conversation.:)
I changed to varifocals a couple of years ago and they are so expensive.
I didn't think of using cc doubled so will be using that in future.
What I wanted to add was that when I got mine for the first time they
felt weird  I was constantly watching where I was stepping especially
going down stairs and I had a headachy feel for a few days until I got
used to them. Having said that when I got used to them I have to say
they are greatHope you get sorted and remember to give them time
when getting used to them.
Hope this helps a bit.Smileand hopefully the world will smile back

They compared on a shop for me yesterday - the 10x COD ones.

I used the aunt bessies yorkshire pud coupon in A's today. It scans to take off £1.50 instead of 50p but unfortunately the sa noticed and overrode it.N1LDA0

Also put in a complaint about Bl00mf1eld store and refusal of DTD being the main reason for not shopping there.
And it's posts like this that make me stand by everything I've said about this store. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0
