I get fed up of the excuse 'but I wouldnt be able to tell my black cat from my neighbours black cat'.
When humans insist on particular colours in a cat, it makes me wonder if they think the same about species including humans, it just seems so totally shallow to judge on something that the cat has no control over. I'd love it if the cats could talk, and turned down these fussy picky people on the grounds that they didn't have their (the cats) preffered colour of hair.
I like particular colours although I have been slave to many different coloured cats in my time.
Gingers and black'n'white generally just don't do it for me - next time I'd love an all black again because they are stunning. Would not have an all white because I am still too cut up over Noah. I'd secretly adore a rosetted Bengal, but would not buy one whilst there are so many cats in rescue.
Having said that my next cat will be chosen on suitability for what I can offer - they would need to be indoor only (FIV, deaf etc) and the right temperament to be a companion for Lulu. And I will probably end up falling head over heels for a ginger or black'n'white. :rotfl: I think you can have shallow tastes, but still be a loving owner.
I find it more difficult to understand why it is socially acceptable to only want a kitten not to adopt an adult cat, at the end of the day it will look like an adult within a year and for the rest of its life. Arguably wanting a kitten is quite shallow, but many do go to wonderful loving homes.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

We've got 4 cats (all rescued), we picked up the newest member of the family on Weds from the local Cats protection centre, a beautiful totally black 4mth old kitten, she is the first black cat we've had and is totally adorable

I think we've had pretty much every colour combination at one time or another, except a grey tabby/grey cat, which I'd love to have, but unless one pops up in rescue then we won't be (plus 4 is enough for now!)

This is Burt. I have never known a more psychotic cat. When he gets excited he walks like a monkey

I will be seriously looking for Cat Deux after Xmas, I am away with family and don't want to have two in the cattery (it's disruptive for them and pricey for me at double time). But I have looked at the pedigree returns longingly before.
Do you know how/ if they homecheck? I've always wondered how that works with the distance.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
