Just the fact that the Cats Protection league need to draw attention to the fact that so many black cats are over looked is such a shame.

I have two black cats Hades (4) & Lucy-Fur (1.5) and they are the sweetest cats I know.

As for bringing me bad luck getting them has to be one of the luckiest things in my life as they bring me so much joy

My first cat was a black one. I wouldn't call her sweet (more like moody and temperamental!) although she did have her moments.

I loved her dearly though.

The good thing about black cats is that if you wear a lot of black, their hairs don't show! My newest cat is white and despite the fact that he never sits on the sofa, somehow my clothes get covered in white hairs!

I have a real mixed bag at home but 90% of my animals have white on them somewhere it drives me crazy! I carry a lint roller at all times lol

Hades can be a moody one when she is flexing her authority in front of the others. Get her on her own and she is such a baby (think she doesn't want to ruin her street cred lol)

My black cat, Lulu, is a proper little madam...she is so confident and friendly, and loves to sit on my lap. Other black cats I have had include Baba who would beg to be picked up and cuddled, and Henry whose party trick was to open the fridge and help himself. My very first black cat Oscar was a big cuddle monster and came from the Mayhew Home long before the television cameras got let in. Black cats? I LOVE them!!!

I get fed up of the excuse 'but I wouldnt be able to tell my black cat from my neighbours black cat'.

When humans insist on particular colours in a cat, it makes me wonder if they think the same about species including humans, it just seems so totally shallow to judge on something that the cat has no control over. I'd love it if the cats could talk, and turned down these fussy picky people on the grounds that they didn't have their (the cats) preffered colour of hair.
