DC (((HUG))) Sounds like whatever you say/do, SIL is going to find a way to take offence.:(

House is a complete tip, stacks of washing to do, paperwork building up.....I keep saying I must get more organised and then I let it all slip away again. The stupid thing is I prefer my house when it's tidy but I never seem to get round to tidying it until it reaches the stage where I can't bear it anymore. Plenty of people have much busier lives than me and they manage a tidy house. I'm not by nature a lazy person, more of a whirlwind but there's a block in my brain about housework. Tried Flyladying for a whiole and that really did help and motivate me. Better get backto that. And I hereby publicly declare that today I WILL do my bedroom and the lounge.
Have as much fun as possible all.
We'd be glad to have you on the weekly Flylady thread.:o Paperwork's a pain - I have a system where on 1st of the month all outstanding paperwork is dealt with, filed, shredded or recycled; and since I implemented that, I find I actually do it on the day it appears, so there's never any to do on the monthly clear-up day.:D

Managed to get here a little earlier today. I don't know how you all manage to play on here in the mornings. And by the time I surface you all seem to have done a day's work. I have this vision of you all busying yourselves around with WMs and BMs and DWs humming away while you Flylady your houses with enthusiasm before rushing off to work. Please tell me I'm wrong, I feel inferior enough already.
You're wrong.:D My day starts early, as I have to get up with Mr LW, to have help with bathing and dressing. BUT... I then flake out on the sofa for a couple of hours, as bathing tires me out, then I do the allotted housework (I do a room a day) in 10 or 15 minute bursts throughout the day, interspersed with resting on the sofa - I clear a few emails, do my online surveys and such-like while I rest - and if I have a canine guest, I need to factor in their requirements, so the housework isn't done so thoroughly those days:cool:. So I'm just muddling through as best I can; I'm certain you're a lot more organised than I!:o It's all I can do to get everything ticking over, with just a household of two, and I don't do a paid job; I have nothing but admiration for people who have a paid job to do, and an entire family to sort out.:o

Hugs to all - sounds like some of you are having a really hard time at the moment.

I had planned lots of on-foot shopping for today but seem to have caught DH's lurgy, so instead I plan to stay home and bark like a walrus instead. Frustrated as I got paid today and have a long list of things to do. At some point I'll figure out dinner for tonight but it's not top of the agenda. I never get colds so this one's caught me by surprise; hoping I can shake it before having my bloodtest and going back to work tomorrow.

I miss diva too :( it is hard to believe that she has been gone nearly two years, she has left us a little legacy with her posts and I admit to going back and reading some every now and then.

:wave:Welcome to xoAmyxo glad to have you on board.

Still cloudy and dismal here, so no washing being done today.

Went shopping in Aldi this morning and got quite a few reduced items. Spent £60 but that included a plasterers float and hod £2.99 and £3.99, a tin white gloss paint £3.99 and three packs of screws 99p each so that was £13.94 (DH has got to re-plaster the bathroom)which meant that all of the food, toilet rolls etc for the whole week plus a lot of freezable stuff that will last longer came to £46 :D So I am happy with that :D

So I am doing mushroom soup with reduced chestnut mushrooms (62p)for lunch with a couple of part baked baguettes (39p) Total for four of us £1.12 which includes a splash of cream :D 28p a serving

Dinner tonight is a treat for DH and DS Rump steak (reduced of course £2.79 big enough to cut into two) with wedges and corn on the cob. I will have a chicken kiev.

Feeling very flat here. FIL still in intensive care, he's stable but I had hoped the anti-biotics would have made some difference by now.
I have been trying to be positive since he was admitted on Sunday night.....
It's got me really down, we don't need a family row with everything else that is going on. I'm kicking myself for mentioning because I know she will now making catty remarks everytime I see her, but I never imagined she would react like that, I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to do what the doctor has said.
Anyway I'm just going to keep my head down and not say anything anymore. I didn't visit the hospital yesterday because I didn't want to bump into her.

Dandy-Candy, she is probably tired and stressed, and under normal circs maybe wouldn't react in the same way. Would you all be able to get together to give FiL's place a spring-clean while he is in hospital, so it doesn't fall onto one person and so everyone helps out?

Yes i'm happy to be involved, I did say I didn't expect her to do it, and would get a couple of cleaners in to help do a blitz job. She's staying in FIL's house herself atm so I will wait until she has gone back to her home. DH says her house is always filthy so she doesn't see FIL's as being anything wrong. It's a very awkward situation, but you know its bad when the Dr starts saying its unacceptable.

    LW: Organised? Moi?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Did I hear the dreaded 'C' word? How dare you. Apart from frantically knitting Christmas Stockings for the C********* Fair I've pushed it to the back of my mind "Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

I didn't know Diva, but you all speak of her so lovingly that I wish I had.

Our excitement here is that the Rev has been told that her operation is to take place on Nov 7th, so she has been ricocheting off the walls. Thankfully she is taking a funeral as we speak, so here's hoping she comes back in a slightly steadier mood.

She brought chips in for lunch - - but I insisted that we had salad with them, in an attempt to make the meal just a tad healthier. She was intending to have a chip butty but I squashed that idea.;)

Well, I managed to get the publication day for the Church magazine postponed till next week but it still has to be done so here goes, (unless I can find another interesting forum.)

Welcome Amy. Are you sure you want to join this mad crowd?

I Think the SIL might be aware of the state of Fil house but is embarrassed about it and does not want to admit it, no one wants to admit that their parents house is in a state, maybe a gentle word with her saying that you were not getting at her and an offer of help would do xx
