Morning all.
Thinking of Diva as well.
No fog today and a tad breezy so washing line is back in use.
My house is falling apart:mad: first it was the hole in the kitchen ceiling which they have put on a 26 week ticket:mad: now this morning my boiler has decided to play up.So no hot water this morning , just luke warm , So have had to stick the immersion heater on just to get some hot water . Will be on the phone as soon as they open to see when they can come out. Never mind, many people are much worse off .
Have a massive baking session today as its the schools breast cancer fundraising day tomorrow. So for yet another day we are having a casserole from the slow cooker for tea as cant be bothered to faff around cooking dinner after spending the day baking cakes ,
Thats my moan over , huge hugs for anyone who wants one.
Have a good day allPaul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Good morning all,
I'm a new addition to the OS board. I used the lovely 'cheapest healthiest meal ever' recipe last night, and it went down very well with my OH
I now have left-overs in a tub for lunch at work, and had a very good evening clearing out the bedroom (well half of it anyway!)
Found approx 5 items worth putting on ebay (with tags!), so very un-MSE, but I'm working on it
Today I'll hunt for a slow cooker, and start making bulk meals to freeze (my new job will mean little or no time to cook)
I hope everyone else has better weather than here though, so very grey and drizzly.0 -

Thats it for now - must dash as I havent put my face on yet:D

Morning, very grey and rainy here. Not too cold though.
Looking forward to seeing my son later today after a brief spell at work.
Migraine almost gone and cold coming out so no brain fog from painkillers today (but they did make me sleep well!).
House is a complete tip, stacks of washing to do, paperwork building up.....I keep saying I must get more organised and then I let it all slip away again. The stupid thing is I prefer my house when it's tidy but I never seem to get round to tidying it until it reaches the stage where I can't bear it anymore. Plenty of people have much busier lives than me and they manage a tidy house. I'm not by nature a lazy person, more of a whirlwind but there's a block in my brain about housework. Tried Flyladying for a whiole and that really did help and motivate me. Better get backto that. And I hereby publicly declare that today I WILL do my bedroom and the lounge.
Have as much fun as possible all.
I have this exact same problem, but I'm working on it currently. My lovely OH is giving me the much needed kick up the backside to get cracking.
He has a daughter, I have a son, and we'll also have an Au Pair living in the house, so now, more than ever, tidyness and organisation are a must.
I find that putting a lovely meal on to cook in the oven, for say an hour, is a great incentive to get started. I tell myself that if I clean for an hour, I can have the meal, and then a sneaky choccy bar after hehe0 -
Morning :hello:
Hello Amy :hello:
I wrote a huge list then split it into three - urgent, not urgent but must be done soon, and do when I can be bothered
There's two more lists - needs and wants, they're for me personally so I'm going to keep that hidden, put aside a few minutes every day to plan things and see how I go.
We've got a poorly guinea pig here. Rambo lost a lot of weight over just a few days, he's seen the vet and been jabbed, I'm the nurse til friday when the vet will see him again. I have to syringe feed food and water every hour, I'm a bit tired. How do women cope with newborns in their forties? I can only just about manage this
I don't have to do it at night, the last feed has to be as much as possible to keep him full but allow him to rest.
I'm not going to get much done today, I'll bung some washing in then arrange everything around feeding Rambo. Must go, it's time for his weigh-in

Feeling very flat here. FIL still in intensive care, he's stable but I had hoped the anti-biotics would have made some difference by now.
I have been trying to be positive since he was admitted on Sunday night, when I was saw DH sis on Tuesday she was saying something about "When he comes home. If he comes home" so I said "They are really looking after him and he isn't getting worse which is good" and I started saying I was looking into a special chair that will help him get up, and we could get a thermometer and make sure he keep the house warm, and give it a really good clean" She started saying it is clean, so I told that the doctor had been coughing and saying it was dusty, and had pointed out that the curtains are matted with cobwebs; and she got really funny about it, kept bring up that I had really offended her by saying her fathers house was unclean etc. I said "I didn't mean to upset you, I just want to do what's best for pops health" and she said "So now you saying I don't care about my fathers health" and walked off.
It's got me really down, we don't need a family row with everything else that is going on. I'm kicking myself for mentioning because I know she will now making catty remarks everytime I see her, but I never imagined she would react like that, I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to do what the doctor has said.
Anyway I'm just going to keep my head down and not say anything anymore. I didn't visit the hospital yesterday because I didn't want to bump into her.0 -
Dandy-candy big hugs to you. Its funny how i can handle my friends (i can avoid them if need be) but family is different. Its the clash of personalities thats so hard to deal with. Personally i get caught up in the clash of respecting ones elders and respecting myself. Still, thats just me.
Anyway, morning all.
Must admit i was impressed with my new washer. Its got a 9kg wash load and an intensive wash for cold programmes. I got all the bedding washed in three wash loads.... Still spent most of the afternoon drying it though.:rotfl:
Not got much to do today as i did most of my bits and peices last night in between television programmes though i'm sure i can find something useful to do.
I am having a battle of wills with Lucy dog at the moment. Oh the joy!

Good morning everyone

Am in the middle of a huge fight with British Gas who have doubled my gas direct debit based on the last 2 bills which were both estimated, as we have a smart meter that does not send a signal and they cannot read. Oh I am so angry and definitely cannot afford the increase and this meter issue has been going on for years and they never manage to resolve it
Am being very bad today with no lunch prepared, and I will need to spend money in work which is normally a definite no go.
Have had a letter from the hospital telling me if I don't attend for my next appointment, they will cancel me and I will have to be re-referred, this could be difficult as my GP has never even heard of my condition and doesn't bother to look it up. I don't like my new consultant and I am not sure if I am entitled to say I want another one. I want my old retired one back again.
This is a very moaning message, sorry for that
It's very cold here but seems to be brightening up, just in time for half term I hope. I optimistally put in a load of washing this morning so fingers crossed it will be able to go out later. That is my bit of optimism for the day!
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those you need them or just want them. Have a super day everyone and I will try and cheer up now

I am rather enjoying the purple posts this morning so thought I would join you. I miss Diva too

Thankfully horrible grey drizzle has gone but its still damp and dull. Still it's autumn can't really expect anything else.
No decorating today, making a cake, ironing and general tidy round
Not sure what's for tea, might have a makeshift as we had pork roast and all the trimmings last night
Just been up to Sainsbugs for the annual 1/3rd off toys scrum
Amy welcome
Julie well done on your WL :T
ETA
Dandy hugs for you and get well vibes for FIL
Tru get well vibes for Rambo xxx
