Water provider

I have been a customer of United Utilities for some time now and just wondered when we will get the opportunity of changing Water provider (like gas & electric)

We need competition for the Water industry and be able to choose who we pay our water bills too.

When is this likely to happen?

It will be the same water, delivered by the same pipes, and sewerage taken away to the same treatment farm, with all the water company's prices controlled by the Regulator(ofwat) who also control how much must be spent renewing the infrastructure.

Mind you if it could happen it could follow the fine example that we have with competition in the gas and electricity industry;)

Oh yes indeed - lots of "competition" there, over 400 tariffs to choose from.....................every one a bargain.......:drool:

United Utilities have procedure in place for this to happen within the next ten years.

However as far as I am aware Ofwat has no plans in motion to enforce this across the board anytime soon.
