Is MoneyDashboard similar to Internet Banking Plus in that it requires Internet Explorer?0
-
No, it's not dependent on a certain browser.
As an aside, I happened to see you can get £13 from Quidco or £10.50 from TCB for signing up to Money Dashboard and fully synching at least one account.
No idea how they finance this as I don't think you need to pay them anything for a full synch?0 -

Ah damn, only got £8
Just an assumption but the data they hold will be very powerful - they'll be able to track spending across all shops etc. and I bet they make money from this. A bit like Shopitize etc. - just that they've got even more info.0 -
I use a free apple app called money, manually update it, covers multiple currency. Good reports, budgeting and can even add assets. Happy with it, only thing is I can't use it on my PC.0

I've just signed up for the Quidco cashback. Just synced a rarely used account as effectively handing them you internet banking info could be an interesting issue should something go wrong......0 -
I've been using MoneyDashboard for the last few months - It's managed to connect with all my accounts very quickly which is great!
What I like about it is that it gives you graphs so you can see how much you've spent and things like that - It's imports you transactions and you then tag them. For example, you can tag a transaction as "Fast Food" for and it'll show you what percentage of your outcome that month has been on fast food.
There's a few downsides which have personally put me off a bit:
1. I get paid on the 20th of the month and I budget from paycheck to paycheck - I want to be able to see how much I've spent since I've been paid not since the beginning of the month. This doesn't support this - I have to see and analyse the whole month's details. That's a deal breaker for me personally and I'm still stuck using Excel and doing it manually. I'm really keeping the account on the hope they add the feature.
2. You cannot set custom tags - You can only use what's there. A lot of the time I pick up for things for housemates and they pay me back - I can't tag it "Housemate Refund" or something.0 -
can it do multiple tags(splits), a Tesco bill that is food, booze, nappies,.....0

I am using an Excel spreadsheet as I have not been able to find any software or service that can include a mortgage.
In my spreadsheet the money I have left at the end of the month goes to my saving account and in 1 year that goes to my mortgage.
Anybody who knows if something like that exists?0 -

Microsoft Money perhaps? The 2005 version is available for free now, albeit unsupported.0 -

kmymoney can do split transactions. as long as 'booze' and 'nappies' are categories, then yes.
I suspect GnuCash can also do that but i've never tried it.Goals
