I got a tablet running on talkmobile. I have serveral times when camping this year used it as a hotspots, giving all my friends with android phones an internet connection. As both the phones and tablets are android, they can't pick it up. Never been charged for it. But I have in the pass connected iPhones and a laptop, no issues.

I think *officially* they do. They may just be turning a blind eye to yours at the moment.

Why would you think that? It's in the T&C that I can use my monthly allowance either on my iphone or for internet tethering. I wouldn't do it otherwise!!

Orange charge an extra 56p a month for the tethering plan between what I had and what I changed to - I use it for tethering my playbook to my blackberry so I do not need to take the laptop. It's a minimal cost for convenience tbh.

Yes, just had a word with their online chat and you are allowed to tether with all their SIM only tariffs. Sincere apologies.
