Solar Panels and SolarStyle UK

Hi All

I am hoping i get some advice on solar panels. My parents are very keen to use solar panels and were contacted the other day by SolarStyle Uk based in Stockton. My dad seems happy with the price and the Feed in Tariff and has agreed to a survey.

Anyone heard or used this company? any reviews?

Also any general advise on Solar panels? when will they see a return on investment?

If you go to the 'green and Ethical' section of MSE there are loads of threads on solar PV and FIT etc and enthusiasts.

I suggest you post on there for a better response.

There are a lot of cowboys still operating in this field and will charge what the market will bear, and install even if the property is unsuitable - e.g. shading from trees , surrounding properties.

Also prices have reduced tremendously as the FIT price has reduced. You should be able to get a 4kWp system with brand name panels(Sharp etc) and inverter for around £7,000 to £8000(some have had quotes for less)

Your father need to write down a list of questions.

The return on investment depends on the price paid, output of system, FIT collected, and how much generated electricity you will use in house - A ballpark figure for savings on your bill will be in the order of £100pa
