I didn't get an XP disc from Dell, but on my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop there was an option in the Start Menu, under programs to make a backup of XP.
This was once only operation and now the option does not appear, so I can't go into details - it was over a year ago I did it. Have a look in the start menu.
You'll need a CD to burn your version of XP ontpo

To be honest, I didn't even know firefox existed until this morning so I would be interested to hear what it is that you feel makes it better than IE0 -

My advice would be to install firefox and opera and try them out. You can keep them installed on your pc along with internet explorer so you've got nothing to lose. Don't listen to anyone else's opinion as it really is down to personal choice. I used to use firefox for years but I now just use Internet explorer since version 7 came out as it does everything I want. I have opera and firefox installed as well with an eye to play around with them when I have time."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It's Down to Personal Choice at the end of the day but some pointers:
Firefox is regarded as a more secure browser than I.E and also more customisable with add-ons etc. i
An example is the Recent "ANI" Exploit in windows about 2 weeks ago. If you were using Opera or Firefox your system wouldnt get infected on a website that had the code, on the otherhand if running I.E to view, it would be infected before you knew it.
Firefox can be more resource heavy than I.E or Opera, but there are ways to change this.
I.E 7 is a huge improvement over I.E 6 with many new features copied from Firefox and Opera also some sites (e.g: Microsoft Updates, MSN) only open in I.E.(unless someones found away around it)
Opera is the fastest browser around in tests, however sometimes it has problems displaying certain websites, so you have to use another browser.
Since Firefox came out it has taken a huge chunk out of I.E market share and is currently running on around 15%. opera about 0.5% of computers. I.E market share is falling all the time0 -
The previous two posts have said very much what I would have said !
My main reason for using Firefox (and Thunderbird !) is that they are not products of Mr Bill Gates - now, I don't have a problem with this gentleman, but lots of people do, and they write nasty things to attack "Windows", "IE", "Outlook" etc, etc.
So, in some areas, anything (almost) is better than MS products.
PS: I do use XP !0 -
