Landlord dispute, mediation failed. Help before court

Hi Aimee,
Just popping in as df kindly mentioned the thread - sorry to hear about your case, sadly there are still dodgy landlords around!
My landlady did exactly the same, we treated the place well and she ended up trying to charge for repainting the whole place, new carpets bla bla bla.
Thanks to the kind folks on MSE we stood our ground and took her to court and her 'lady decorator'/sister/who knows (who had the same address as her). We got half our money back so take heart and try your best even if it just teaches her a lesson, as you say, it for the principle of it!
She should have protected your deposit, and you've done her a favour by redecorating when she clearly hasn't bothered to.
Stay calm when you are in there, try not to get emotional (we did snort here and there when she made outlandish claims of 'being unwell in hospital'
Good luck and let us know how you get on!MFW #185

Thanku all so much for your help! I hate her so much for doing this and i would rather go to court and loose than stand back and let her get away with it.
The landlady in question is a bereavement therapist, which is unreal as i lost my brother to suicide just before she decided to give us notice to quit as she quoted to us there is more money letting to students and assumed i would be excited about moving to a bigger home and closer to my family after my loss. Nothing to do with my deposit i know!0 -
A1meewillygoggs There are some seriously stupid landlords around, read Artfullodger's Evict a Landlord thread. You did right to go to mediation, it makes you look like the reasonable person you are, courts like to see you have tried to resolve things amicably. Sound like your record keeping and research is a hundred times better than hers.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Ive also been told by my old neighbour they have cut the headge down and thrown it all in another neighbours garden!0
