How soon should you leave it to send out reminders to buyers? I have had several buyers not pay for days (5 days for 1 of them) and one person I sent a reminder on day 3 got very shirty with me. I don't want to upset buyers, but it's a pain waiting!
P.s. I am always very polite when I send reminders!

Well at least your polite, i had a seller at the weekend (i was away and not looking at my phone 24/7) send me a message after a day of me winning their auction just saying;
'pls pay for jeans'
Nothing else, got me slightly irked as all my feedback states fast payer etc, wouldnt have minded if it had been a couple of days...as of today, im still waiting for them to be posted! Go figure!0 -
I sent one out today asking them if they could please let me know when they plan on paying for their item, as I can't get to the post office everyday, so if I know when I need to post it, it would make it easier for me. They won it on Sunday. I doubt they will like it if I take 4 days to post it, so I don't appreciate waiting 4 or more days for payment without any contact. It's Just rude! All their feedback has fast payment as well, I won't be writing that in their feedback.0

The best thing to do is put in your listing that you want payment within x days. That way they know when you expect payment and so should either pay within that time or ask you if it's ok to pay later. It also justifies a reminder email if you haven't received payment in that time.0

I usually wait for three days then send out an invoice. If that doesn't work then I wait a few more days and send an email along the lines of 'is there a problem do you need more time to pay?' Then use my judgement if they answer yes.
Not had to go any further yet, but I do look to see if a non payer is leaving feedback for others this would indicate that they have paid for other items. If not then they may be on holiday or not around for another reason. Not very sensible of them to bid and then be away but there's no point in snowing someone under with emails, also Ebay will send out mail automatically to non payers.0 -
My best advice is don't wait too long! Quite often in the past I've been very patient only for the buyers to never get back in touch with, causing me to re-list.
I'd wait 2 days at the most before chasing.0 -

Then what? Apart from winding up buyers and making you look a bit naive what else have you achieved?
Sellers cannot even open an NPB until day 4 and close It 4 days,after, any other seller imposed time fame is a waste of space.
I send an invoice at auction end, another one on day 3 or 4 and then open anNPB on day 4 or 5, I do not email the buyer at all, after all what could I possibly say?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well I'll be opening one tomorrow if I've not received payment by then. Sick of being 'Miss reasonable' on there now, the worm has turned!

Thanks for all your advices - sent out 2 reminders today and got payment from one, saying she was sorry, it was over-looked. The other I still haven't heard from! The annoying thing is, it was just pennies (99p) with £1.25 p&p!

It is better to not remind buyers at all.
Once a buyer has won an auction wait until day 4 and if they havent paid then open a non payer bidder dispute. You can then close it 4 days to the minute later.0 -

That's rather nasty, in my opinion. Anyone can overlook something or be distracted and its very unreasonable not to send a single reminder- not suggesting repeated reminders, just a single one after the usual ebay time limit for paying has passed, that's all.
No need for any additional nastiness or spiteful behaviour in this world,there is way more than enough already.0
